Warsaw MobilePack makes more than 1.1 million meals for children.

Warsaw MobilePack makes more than 1.1 million meals for children. News release. WARSAW - The Warsaw community turned "Hunger to Hope" during the 2026 Warsaw MobilePack, packing 1,124,712 meals for children facing hunger around the world while collecting four large pallets of canned food to support Warsaw School's Together We Feed Them All initiative and local food pantries. Hosted at Warsaw Community Schools' Tiger Recreational Activity Center, the event welcomed 4,209 volunteers who packed 5,207 boxes of meals through Feed My Starving Children. The total represents enough food to feed an estimated 3,081 children for a year, according to a news release from Warsaw Community Schools. Support local news The event exceeded both its fundraising and meal-packing goals, bringing this year's theme, "Hunger to Hope," to life. The meals have now shipped through Feed My Starving Children's distribution partners. Of the total, 816,480 meals were shipped through LeSea Feed the Hungry, which serves primary schools in Africa, Asia and Central America through its EveryChild EveryDay program. Additional shipments included 93,312 meals to Cuba through Outreach Aid to the Americas, 93,312 to El Salvador through Cross Catholic Outreach and 121,608 to Honduras through Food for the Poor. The current Warsaw MobilePack steering team's goal has been to host the event every other year, allowing time to raise funds, coordinate volunteers and prepare for this large-scale community service opportunity. "Warsaw continues to show us that when we come together in mission, our collective impact is far greater than what any one person or organization could accomplish alone," said Megan Stone, Warsaw MobilePack chair. Students were a significant part of that impact, with 2,376 participating across five student shifts. Students from Warsaw Community Schools, Sacred Heart Catholic School and other participating groups measured ingredients, packed meals and carried boxes alongside teachers, staff and parent chaperones. Their involvement provided an opportunity to practice teamwork, demonstrate empathy and see how their efforts can enrich the lives of others, according to the news release. Support local news "When young people see firsthand what can happen when people work together to meet a need, it leaves an impression that goes far beyond the event itself," Stone said. "These students weren't simply packing meals. They were learning the value of generosity, compassion, teamwork and serving others. We are grateful to the schools, teachers, staff and parent chaperones who helped make these experiences possible." The Corporate Challenge also brought strong community participation, welcoming a record 508 business and community leaders representing 13 teams. Participants packed 300,888 meals in just over two hours. Team Orchard Medical and Team Medtronic received Hunger Hero Awards in recognition of their participation and efforts. Sponsors, donors, churches, volunteers, steering team members and qualified volunteers helped make the event possible through financial contributions and hours of preparation and service. Their support covered meal ingredients, supported packing shifts and created a welcoming experience for thousands of participants. "The numbers tell an extraordinary story, but the heart of Warsaw MobilePack is the people," Stone said. "It takes generous donors, dedicated volunteers, committed businesses, supportive churches, engaged schools and countless people working behind the scenes to make this happen. Every contribution matters, whether someone provides financial support, serves on the planning team or spends a shift packing meals. When we each bring what we have to the table, God can use our combined efforts to accomplish something extraordinary." Buy Maps Warsaw MobilePack brings together individuals, families, schools, churches, businesses and community organizations to fight hunger through hands-on service and giving. Medtronic secures CE Mark for new cardiac pacing portfolio.

Medtronic secures CE Mark for new cardiac pacing portfolio. pharmafile | October 30, 2026 | News story | Cardiology, Devices, Oncology, cardiology, medical devices Medtronic has received CE Mark approval for its Vitalis portfolio of five pacemakers, including a device designed for patients who may benefit from cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) but in whom effective treatment using conventional biventricular pacing cannot be achieved. The portfolio comprises ReSyncra CSP, Restoria CSP, Refina CSP, Effectra and Confirma pacemakers, offering a range of pacing options, including those designed for conduction system pacing (CSP). CSP uses the heart's natural electrical conduction pathways to regulate heart rate and improve coordination between the ventricles. Medtronic said its ReSyncra CSP pacemaker combines this approach with features intended to help optimise synchronisation for patients with heart failure who cannot achieve effective CRT through conventional methods. The portfolio also includes pacing algorithms to personalise treatment, monitoring capabilities to assess CSP therapy, and features designed to accommodate radiotherapy and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Medtronic said its Day Zero MRI feature allows patients to undergo MRI scans immediately after implantation, without the usual four-to-six-week wait. Other features include RadiaSure technology, which the company says helps devices tolerate radiation doses associated with nearly all cancer treatments, and Allometric Pacing, which enables clinicians to tailor pacing rates according to patient characteristics including height and ejection fraction. The launch is accompanied by Medtronic's CSP procedural tools, including the SelectSecure MRI SureScan Model 3830 pacing lead and the C320LBB delivery system for targeted lead placement. Robert C. Kowal, General Manager of Cardiac Pacing Therapies at Medtronic, said the portfolio was designed to offer options ranging from conventional pacing support to CSP and CRT, while allowing clinicians to personalise therapy. Steris vs Medtronic: faster growth and a lower P/E, but Steris has less debt

Medtronic may offer Steris shareholders a cheaper route to faster growth, according to a Trefis comparison. Steris trades at 27.7 times earnings, against 23.2 for Medtronic. Medtronic grew sales 13.7% in fiscal Q1 2027, against 7.3% for Steris. Over twelve months, it grew 9.8%, against 8.4%. On September 1, Medtronic raised its fiscal 2027 organic revenue growth forecast to 7.5% at the midpoint, from 7.0%. Steris keeps the edge on debt, at 9.2% of market value against 23.2%, and on three-year growth, at 9.8% a year against 6.0%. That debt figure predates its agreed $2.1 billion purchase of Xodus Medical. Operating margins are level at about 19%. Steris kept its forecasts but cut its free cash flow forecast to $800 million, from $850 million, to fund a new North Carolina plant.
