Requirements
  • For the LPN/LVN pathway, hold a current, full, active, unrestricted California license and current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Have ambulatory care experience for the LPN/LVN pathway.
  • For the Health Technician/Nursing Assistant pathway, meet the Veterans Affairs Qualification Standards for Nursing Assistant or the Office of Personnel Management Health Aid and Technician Series 0640.
  • Hold a current, full, active, unrestricted license or certification as applicable, or otherwise meet Veterans Affairs qualification standards.
  • Successfully complete Veterans Affairs credentialing and privileging review and a background investigation cleared through the Office of Personnel Management via the Veterans Affairs Security and Investigations Center before starting work.
  • Obtain required PIV credentialing.
  • Complete required Veterans Affairs mandatory training and maintain current licensure or certification documentation annually.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic technique, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities
  • Provide evaluation and care consistent with licensure or certification to patients assigned to PACTs.
  • Collaborate with PACT staff on comprehensive health care and care management plans.
  • Manage clinic workflow and ensure timely placement of patients in examination rooms.
  • Perform vital signs and point-of-care testing, and assist with procedures.
  • Receive training to serve as backup for telehealth services such as Store and Forward and Clinical Video Telehealth.
  • Complete assigned tasks within the clinic session without delaying patient care.
