Campus, online two-year college, launches new paralegal degree to prepare students for legal careers in the AI era. Press Releases NEW YORK, NY (September 22, 2026) - Campus, an accredited two-year college built for the AI era, today announced the launch of its online Associate of Arts in Paralegal Studies. The program is also approved by the American Bar Association, which evaluates paralegal curricula and faculty against the same standards legal employers use to assess prospective hires."Paralegals have always been critical in the legal process - checking citations, tracking deadlines, keeping the details straight," said Melissa Brooks, director of legal studies at Campus. "AI hasn't changed that responsibility, it's raised the stakes. As more firms rely on AI for research and drafting, they need people who can verify that work before it reaches a judge or a client. Our students train to manage AI-assisted work with the judgment it takes to make it reliable." The program pairs instruction in the fundamentals every paralegal needs - legal research, writing, and procedure - with training to handle AI-assisted work with judgment and precision. Over eight quarters, students complete coursework spanning family, criminal, corporate, contract, administrative, and property law, with specialization tracks available in litigation, corporate, family/probate/real estate, or public interest practice. Students learn when AI belongs in a workflow, what information can safely go into it, and how to verify what comes out before it reaches the attorney of record. Students start working with AI and legal technology in their first quarter, building toward the Legal Ops & AI capstone, in which students manage AI-assisted workflows across simulated client environments. By graduation, students are prepared to sit for the Westlaw Legal Research Certification and the Clio Certified Administrator exams, and have a portfolio of research memos, correspondence, and discovery work to show potential employers. The degree is built for a range of students: those seeking a high-quality, low-cost pathway into the legal industry; working adults changing careers who want a structured, cohort-based program; and prospective law school students building a practical foundation in legal writing, reasoning, and workflow. As the first college built in the AI era, Campus is backed by entrepreneurs and investors including Sam Altman, Shaquille O'Neal, General Catalyst, Founders Fund, and 8VC, and is led by a board of respected former college presidents including John Wilson of Morehouse College and Gail Mellow of LaGuardia Community College. Campus delivers live, online classes taught by faculty who also teach at top colleges like MIT, UCLA and Howard. Campus's unique approach is grounded in a pioneering tech platform and a heavily-researched student success model proven to double two-year college graduation rates. Campus provides students with dedicated advisors, on-demand tutoring, and personalized coaching. Graduates of the program are not licensed to practice law and may not provide legal advice or legal services directly to members of the public, except as otherwise permitted by law. Campus, two-year online college, adds NYU to growing national transfer network. Sep 15, 2026, 08:00 ET Campus, the two-year college built for Gen Z, expands transfer network to include New York University, enabling seamless transfer to bachelor's degree programs NEW YORK, September 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Campus, a two-year national online college that helps students start college without taking on any debt, today announced a new transfer partnership with New York University (NYU), adding one of the nation's most prominent research universities to its growing national transfer network. The agreement creates a clear pathway from Campus's Associate of Arts in Business Administration (AABA) to bachelor's degree programs at the NYU School of Professional Studies Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies (NYU SPS DAUS). "NYU SPS' partnerships with organizations like Campus help turn what is historically a complex, high-risk transfer process into a predictable, cost-effective, and direct route to completing and earning a highly regarded NYU degree," said Angie Kamath, Harvey J. Stedman Dean of the NYU School of Professional Studies. "These partnerships help remove unnecessary friction for students and open up distinct pathways to degree completion." Campus worked with NYU SPS faculty to map course equivalencies and develop a defined pathway to completion, ensuring that students can count on their credits transferring so they can stay on track to finish in four years. According to a U.S. Government Accountability Office report, students who transferred from one institution to another lost an estimated 43% of their credits in the process. More recent studies have found that fewer than 1 in 5 students (14.1%) who transfer finish their bachelor's program in two years. "Higher ed loves to talk about access, but transfer is where that promise usually dies. Students do everything right, they show up, pass their classes, and still watch their credits disappear when they try to transfer," said Tade Oyerinde, founder and chancellor of Campus. "A student's first two years should actually count for something. Partnering with a school like NYU means our students aren't just getting a credential; they're getting a real shot at one of the best universities in the country." The NYU SPS partnership builds on Campus's national transfer network, which includes more than 30 institutions such as Arizona State University, Tulane University School of Professional Advancement, University of Central Florida, and University of North Texas. Inspired by the research-backed CUNY ASAP approach, the Campus model delivers live, online instruction from respected professors who also teach at colleges and universities such as Stanford, UCLA, and Howard. Students also receive wraparound support, including on-demand tutoring and personal success coaching. Recent Campus graduates have already transferred to institutions across the country, including the University of Pennsylvania, Louisiana State University, Arizona State University, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, to complete a range of bachelor's degree programs, including Business Administration and Information Systems and Analytics.
