Responsibilities
  • Support Portfolio Managers in evaluating M&A transactions, including deal terms and consideration structures.
  • Conduct fundamental research on transaction parties by reviewing merger agreements, proxy statements, and company filings.
  • Analyze legal, tax, and regulatory factors affecting deal completion and timing.
  • Build and maintain financial models and spread/return scenarios for existing and prospective positions.
  • Monitor active positions, tracking regulatory developments, company fundamentals, and market news.
  • Assist in sizing and structuring positions across equities, options, and other instruments.
  • Prepare written summaries and updates on deal status for internal discussions and risk reviews.
  • Maintain and enhance the team's tools and databases for tracking merger arbitrage deals.
  • Collaborate with analysts, traders, and risk management professionals.
