- Must be able to work in a pediatric, child-friendly environment.
- Must have coronal polishing certification; the employer can provide a sealant course.
- Must maintain a Dental Assisting License in good standing and complete the continuing education credits required by the state.
- Must have a current State of Tennessee Registered Dental Assistant license.
- Must have a current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
- Must have polishing and radiology certifications.
- Review hygiene patient charts, including the reason and necessity of the visit, medical history, and x-ray requirements.
- Verify patient information with the parent or guardian in accordance with HIPAA privacy standards.
- Verify that the patient has consent for treatment from a parent or guardian.
- Advise the parent or guardian what to expect during the visit and address any concerns.
- Chart all existing or missing teeth, existing restorations, and dental procedures.
- Obtain all necessary x-rays at the best quality possible.
- Maintain accurate clinical notes for each visit.
- Clean and sterilize instruments according to OSHA and company standards, including scrubbing and packing instruments and processing them through the Statim or autoclave sterilizer.
