Requirements
  • At least 5 years of marine technician experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities are required.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and rigging systems is required.
  • The candidate must be productive, dependable, detail-oriented, and team-oriented.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair outboard engines, inboard systems, and marine components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and major mechanical repairs.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and sea trials to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Complete engine installations, repowers, and original equipment manufacturer rigging.
  • Install controls, steering systems, electronics, trolling motors, and marine accessories.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and performance upgrades to manufacturer standards.
  • Communicate repair recommendations with Service Advisors.
  • Maintain accurate repair documentation and labor operations.
  • Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Identify additional repair or maintenance opportunities that improve customer satisfaction.
Desired Qualifications
  • Dealership experience is preferred.
  • Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, or MerCruiser certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Graduation from the Marine Mechanics Institute is encouraged.
