Requirements
  • Admission to practice law and good standing in Connecticut are required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
  • The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with individuals or groups is required.
  • The role requires the ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
  • The role requires the ability to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device.
  • The role requires availability for a minimum 40-hour flexible workweek schedule.
  • The role requires the ability to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence.
  • The role requires the ability to lift five pounds or greater, sit for approximately 90% of the workday at times, bend at the waist, remain mobile when needed, concentrate, and use critical thinking.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties.
  • Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery, and related documents for active litigation files.
  • Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action.
  • Advocate for client interests in various litigation settings.
  • Use internal proprietary software to update and document the status of each account in the assigned inventory.
  • Analyze and process litigation inventory reports and litigation files as assigned by the Managing Attorney to ensure proper litigation workflow under firm and client expectations.
  • Comply with all client and firm standard operating procedures.
  • Travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of litigation or trial experience.
  • Working knowledge of civil procedure.
  • Debt collection experience.
  • Prior experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong motivation, self-starting ability, and eagerness to learn.
