- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
- At least 4 years of progressively responsible LAN/WAN networking experience, including successful design and implementation of LAN/WAN networks, is required.
- Experience with security software, disaster recovery, firewalls, and network monitoring is required.
- Skill in oral and written communication is required.
- Skill in project management is required.
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously is required.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, and NIST is required.
- Familiarity with QRadar, the Symantec product suite, SolarWinds Profiler, Cisco LMS, and InterMapper is required.
- A Level I industry certification such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent is required.
- Some heavy lifting is required.
- The role includes on-call responsibility for network support.
- Administer LAN/WAN network devices, disaster recovery, and communication channels through high-quality, high-availability automated tasks, including testing and quality control.
- Communicate with external and internal customers to respond to requests for changes in network hardware, communication channels, or IOS software by determining detailed requirements and impact, identifying alternatives and costs, and obtaining appropriate approvals.
- Maintain the documentation library for all LAN/WAN networks and communication channels.
- Reengineer, design, and implement new and existing systems.
- Plan, integrate, implement, and support high-quality LAN/WAN networks.
- Provide recommendations and consulting services to senior analysts for project design and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining information technology security solutions, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection and prevention systems.
- Investigate actual or potential information security incidents.
- Review network security architecture, information security administration, and policies.
- Collaborate with the Infrastructure team to identify network and system vulnerabilities and appropriate solutions to eliminate or minimize their potential effects.
- Collaborate with staff in evaluating new software and hardware systems, particularly as they relate to security.
- CISSP or equivalent certification is preferred.
