About the job

Requirements
  • Strong SQL and production dbt experience.
  • Production experience on a cloud warehouse with Git-based, review-first workflows.
  • A track record of defining metrics with stakeholders and delivering outcomes people rely on.
  • The ability to use sound judgement about where logic should live, such as in the semantic layer or BI layer.
  • Demonstrable interest in how data analytics is changing alongside artificial intelligence, and commitment to developing one's skillset.
  • Rounded experience in data modelling and engineering practice.
  • The ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to challenge metric definitions so they reflect real business outcomes.
  • A practical and rigorous approach to governed, semantically modelled data and validation of artificial-intelligence capabilities.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with stakeholders across operations, commercial, finance, and supply chain to design data models and unlock analytic capabilities.
  • Define metrics, dimensions, and business logic in the semantic layer, including the dbt Semantic Layer and Snowflake semantic views.
  • Deliver reporting through the business intelligence tooling, currently Tableau, with a tool-agnostic mindset, and reduce duplicated or conflicting outputs.
  • Curate and validate governed datasets and semantic models for artificial-intelligence and natural-language consumption, acting as the accuracy bar for AI-generated analysis.
  • Champion healthy self-service and data literacy, directing the team toward fewer, better, trusted outputs.
  • Review others' work constructively and contribute to the team's modelling standards.
  • Demonstrate new features and train business stakeholders when required.
  • Own analytical domains end-to-end, including metric definition with stakeholders, dbt data modelling, and ensuring that key performance indicators resolve to the same trusted answer wherever they are consumed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Production experience with semantic-layer tooling.
  • Experience with natural-language or artificial-intelligence analytics tools, such as Cortex Analyst, or preparing data for large language model consumption.
  • Experience rationalising dashboard estates or migrating business intelligence logic downstream.
  • Experience in e-commerce, manufacturing, or subscription business domains.
