About the job

Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience building and operating production cloud infrastructure at scale.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience in cluster management, workload design, networking, autoscaling, and production troubleshooting.
  • Experience with GitOps and ArgoCD, including ApplicationSets, sync waves, multi-cluster delivery, and promotion workflows.
  • CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, or an equivalent platform, including pipelines, caching, artifact management, and security gates.
  • Experience writing infrastructure as code using Pulumi, Terraform, or an equivalent tool.
  • Experience with centralized secrets management, such as ESO or an equivalent, automated rotation, and avoiding inline secrets.
  • Experience with IAM design, zero-trust principles, vulnerability scanning, and dependency management.
  • Experience writing production-quality code in Go, using a functional programming style rather than only scripts.
  • Cloud experience; AWS or Azure experience with strong cloud fundamentals is transferable, with the expectation of ramping quickly on GCP.
Responsibilities
  • Design and operate scalable, highly available cloud environments across development, staging, and production.
  • Establish autoscaling policies, highly available networking, cost-efficient resource management, and clear parity across environments.
  • Own the GitOps delivery pipeline using ArgoCD and Kubernetes; manage clusters, ApplicationSets, workload deployments, and promotion workflows across environments.
  • Ensure deployments are reliable, observable, and safely reversible.
  • Centralize secrets management, define zero-trust IAM policies, integrate continuous vulnerability scanning into CI/CD, and own incident-response playbooks.
  • Deploy and maintain metrics, tracing, and log pipelines; define actionable SLOs and alerting.
  • Provide runbooks, local-environment tooling, and onboarding patterns that enable engineers to ship safely; reduce toil through automation and golden-path tooling.
  • Write Go to build internal tooling, automate operational workflows, and solve problems that cannot be solved with YAML alone.
  • Review architectural changes for infrastructure and security impact.
  • Partner with backend engineers on scalability initiatives and document decisions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Temporal, Argo Workflows, Airflow, or Cadence.
  • Prior work in HIPAA, SOC 2, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Exposure to service mesh, mTLS, or zero-trust networking patterns.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or golden-path tooling.
  • Background working in healthcare or other data-sensitive industries.

About the company

Mandolin provides an AI-driven automation platform for the specialty pharmaceutical market. Its system uses AI agents that act as a digital workforce and plug into existing EHRs, payer portals, and manufacturer hubs to handle back-office tasks for infused and injected drugs. These agents automate steps like benefits verification, insurance navigation, prior authorizations, parsing documents, and billing to manage the patient access workflow from referral to reimbursement. The platform targets infusion centers, specialty pharmacies, and health systems, aiming to shorten delays to treatment, reduce operating costs, and improve revenue cycle management.

What believers are saying

  • June 2025 funding from Greylock and SignalFire gives Mandolin capital for aggressive hiring.
  • June 2026-2026 blog posts signal active product velocity and constant workflow expansion.
  • Customer claims of 24x faster processing and under-two-hour turnaround support budget justification.

What critics are saying

  • CoverMyMeds, Waystar, Rhyme, and Availity attack adjacent workflows; buyers already have defaults.
  • Healthcare AI agents face hallucination, audit, and denial risk when payer rules change.
  • If one large customer churns after 2025 pilots, Mandolin's specialty-drug platform loses credibility fast.

What makes Mandolin unique

  • 2025 product automates specialty-drug intake through reimbursement across 700 clinic locations.
  • Mandolin integrates with EHRs, payer portals, and manufacturer hubs for end-to-end workflow control.
  • Will Yin and Rohit Rustagi bring repeat-founder credibility and a rare specialty-drug focus.
