Requirements
  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in construction management or inspection of transportation facilities, including highways and bridges.
  • Proven project and client management skills.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to meet company motor vehicle record standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication experience.
  • Depending on jurisdiction and client requirements, a professional engineer license may be needed, or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Manage construction projects and operations, including supervision of personnel and resources, oversight of project documentation, and development and maintenance of client relations.
  • Plan and coordinate materials testing and inspection.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation.
  • Perform construction engineering, inspection, observation, and verification.
  • Review traffic control compliance.
  • Review and recommend construction estimate payments.
  • Review, monitor, and evaluate project documentation.
  • Record project conditions before and during construction.
  • Manage construction inspectors.
  • Assist in developing and executing the marketing plan.
  • Identify candidates, assist in the hiring process, and manage staff.
  • Attend conferences as a company representative.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Lead business development.
  • Participate in developing proposals and interviews.

Peak Rock Capital sells SAM to New Mountain Capital after doubling revenue

Peak Rock Capital has sold SAM Companies, a geospatial and inspection services provider for utilities and critical infrastructure, to New Mountain Capital. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under Peak Rock's ownership since 2021, SAM more than doubled revenue, completed 19 acquisitions, and expanded from its original footprint to add 25 offices. The company now serves 20 of the top 25 US utilities, providing end-to-end geospatial intelligence services across the critical infrastructure lifecycle. SAM, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, uses advanced scientific methods to capture and analyse infrastructure data, supporting grid modernisation and AI-driven infrastructure investment. The company has developed technical and AI capabilities positioning it as an industry leader in the sector. Guggenheim Securities and Houlihan Lokey advised on the transaction.
