Requirements
  • At least 5 years of securities sales and trading experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Responsibilities
  • Research, develop, and evaluate new quantitative investment strategies and index solutions across linear and non-linear markets, leveraging derivatives, alternative data, and machine learning techniques.
  • Implement strategies in coordination with sales, trading, quantitative research, legal, compliance, and technology teams to ensure accurate and efficient execution.
  • Partner with sales teams and clients to design customized investment solutions for institutional and retail distribution channels.
  • Prepare marketing and presentation materials, market updates, and performance analyses, and engage with sales teams and clients to showcase capabilities and originate new business opportunities.
  • Document, maintain, and oversee systematic strategies and indices for investor use.
  • Build tools using Python to support quantitative investment strategy index design and improve platform efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze performance across the firm's systematic strategy offerings and provide insights and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Complete FINRA Series 7 registration within 180 days of hire if it is not available for transfer upon hire, or hold a FINRA-recognized equivalent.
  • Complete FINRA Series 63 registration within 180 days of hire if it is not available for transfer upon hire, or hold a FINRA-recognized equivalent.
  • Successfully complete FINRA background screening and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, including periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.
  • Successfully complete and clear the Dodd-Frank background screening and comply with ongoing regulatory requirements for associated persons who solicit or accept client orders for swaps.
Desired Qualifications
  • An advanced degree such as a Master of Science in a quantitative discipline such as financial engineering, financial mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quantitative investing, structuring, or trading, preferably focused on quantitative investment strategies or other systematic strategies, with a proven track record.
  • Hands-on experience applying alternative data and machine learning or statistical learning techniques to investment research and strategy development.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for conducting backtests and developing tools for the quantitative investment strategy platform.
  • A strong understanding of market structure and market behavior, with the ability to translate research insights into commercially relevant investments.
  • Experience working across institutional and retail product distribution, including familiarity with insurance and fixed indexed annuity products, exchange-traded fund issuers, and other retail channels.
  • Familiarity with equity volatility products, including variance swaps, dispersion, gamma, skew, and carry strategies.
  • Demonstrated success creating quantitative investment strategies that have been brought to market and actively traded.
  • Ability to collaborate across sales, trading, quantitative, and legal teams to bring products from concept through execution.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, including pricing, risk assessment, and performance monitoring.
  • Ability to collaborate with information technology teams to build broader quantitative investment strategy infrastructure and drive the technology and systems agenda to enhance platform capabilities and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong organization and attention to detail.

Wells Fargo has appointed Anthony Giuliano as managing director and head of beauty and wellness in consumer and retail investment banking. Giuliano joins from Perella Weinberg, where he served as partner, and previously held investment banking positions at Nomura and Barclays. He will report to Vik Bhardwaj, head of consumer and retail investment banking at Wells Fargo.
