About the company

OnePay runs a consumer finance app for people in the United States, bringing everyday money management and longer-term investing into one account experience. Its products span checking, savings, personal loans, retirement accounts and cryptocurrency, with banking services supplied by partner banks rather than OnePay itself. Customers manage their accounts through the app, while employers and payroll platforms connect financial tools to the systems their workers already use. The business charges fees on cryptocurrency trades and selected cash-advance services, while stock purchases and sales carry no OnePay commission. Its banking business was founded in 2019 and is based in New York.

What believers are saying

  • US staff gain location flexibility: OnePay advertises remote-first work anywhere domestically and a monthly home-office stipend.
  • Investing reinforces banking adoption: OnePay Invest requires a OnePay deposit account as its sole funding source.
  • Retail distribution is already built: OnePay Wallet works at more than 4,500 Walmart locations and online.

What critics are saying

  • Expect urgency beyond standard hours: OnePay explicitly says its workplace is not a traditional nine-to-five.
  • Investment operations depend on another firm: DriveWealth handles OnePay Invest clearing and custody.
  • Headline rewards have limits: OnePay category cash back pays 3% on only $150 in monthly spending.

What makes OnePay unique

  • Wallet reaches beyond OnePay cards: shoppers link outside cards and scan QR codes at Walmart.
  • Payroll access bypasses banking signup: OnePay @Work gives earned wage access without requiring a OnePay deposit account.
  • Credit reporting follows debit-like spending: Builder Card locks purchase funds from checking and automatically pays monthly balances.

Is Auto Sales The Next Amazon-Walmart Contest?

It seems as if consumers can buy just about anything from Amazon. Now, you can add cars to that list. Can Amazon Autos become a go-to destination for car buyers, providing Amazon with a competitive edge in an area where Walmart has yet to establish a strong presence?. While Walmart does sell and even buy cars through its Carsaver partnership, the company still relies on third parties to handle the bulk of the transaction process. This leaves an opportunity for Amazon to take a more direct approach, leveraging its vast ecosystem and tech-driven conveniences to elevate the car-buying experience
