We are searching for the right candidate to join our team as an Assistant Controller for our Phoenix Division located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Primary responsibilities:
• To support the V.P. of Finance in providing financial management expertise to the operating division as well as to the corporate financial organization
• Manage the month end close and budgeting process for all joint ventures
• Participate in the monthly Joint Venture partner meetings and present key financial reports
• Ensure that accounting, control, audit and administrative duties are performed effectively and efficiently
• Ensure that financial information is accurately developed, analyzed and reported to management
• Ensure forecasts, project budgets and division budgets are prepared timely and accurately
• Manage, motivate and develop Financial and Administrative staff
• Ensure that corporate financial policies and procedures are adhered to
• Ensure that all corporate and operational reports are submitted accurately and timely
• Assists in the management of information system issues and concerns
• Provide financial assistance to all functional areas as needed
• Responsible for accuracy of financial reports for assigned entities and subsidiaries
Qualifications:
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA, active CPA candidacy acceptable
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Seven years’ experience in Finance/Accounting
• Accounting experience, preferably in the homebuilding, land development and/or construction industry
• Experience with finance and accounting systems and software
• Knowledge of cost accounting (specifically construction industry)
• Prior experience managing and training accounting/finance personnel
• Computer literacy, including excellent Excel skills
