Requirements
Graduate of a recognized two-year diploma program in food services supervision or management, or a bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Hotel Management.
Membership of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management and eligibility for membership in the Ontario Society of Nutrition Management.
Current Food Handler Safety Certificate.
Minimum one year of experience in quantity food production.
Ability to communicate in Chinese or Japanese is an asset.
Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen.
Successful applicants must provide a recent satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check and medical clearance certificate.
Responsibilities
Supervise food preparation and services to residents and other consumers in accordance with the organization's resident-centered approach, policies, procedures, established standards, and regulations.
Support the Food Services Manager in overseeing daily food production and service in accordance with legislation, Ministry standards, and Yee Hong policies.
Lead, coach, and support Food Services staff to ensure effective daily operations and high-quality service.
Monitor residents’ food intake, dietary needs, preferences, and concerns, collaborating with the Dietitian as needed.
Meet with new residents to understand their food preferences and dining needs.
Supervise food preparation and ensure food quality, temperatures, sanitation, and safety standards are consistently maintained.
Maintain clean, safe, and well-functioning kitchen and dining areas.
Support food ordering, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and departmental resources.
Participate in resident care conferences and contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
Support catering and special food service functions as required.
Stay current with food service best practices and regulatory requirements.

Supervisory experience in food production is preferred.
