Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • New Jersey Speech-Language Specialist Certification
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Demonstrated eligibility and competence to supervise Clinical Fellowship Year candidates and Speech Specialists per ASHA and state regulations
  • Knowledge of IDEA and NJAC 6A:14 compliance requirements
  • Experience providing school-based speech and language therapy
  • Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills

Responsibilities
  • Conduct speech and language screenings, evaluations, and reassessments for referred students
  • Participate in eligibility determination and placement recommendations as a CST member
  • Interpret evaluation results and communicate findings clearly to families, educators, and leadership
  • Maintain accurate, timely evaluation documentation in compliance with NJAC 6A:14
  • Provide individual and group speech-language therapy addressing articulation, fluency, voice, receptive language, and expressive language
  • Deliver services using push-in, pull-out, and inclusive service delivery models aligned to classroom curriculum and IEP requirements
  • Develop and implement measurable IEP communication goals and intervention plans
  • Monitor, document, and report student progress toward IEP goals each marking period
  • Serve as case manager for students with speech-language services when assigned
  • Coordinate IEP development, annual reviews, reevaluations, and required documentation
  • Maintain confidential student records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
  • Collaborate with teachers, tutors, CST members, and school leaders to support student communication goals
  • Provide classroom strategies, accommodations, and modeling to reinforce speech and language development across settings
  • Integrate curriculum-aligned communication skills into therapy sessions
  • Communicate regularly with families/guardians regarding student progress and strategies for home support
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary planning sessions
  • Provide clinical supervision to Speech-Language Specialists and Clinical Fellowship Year candidates in accordance with ASHA and state regulations as needed
  • Maintain accurate therapy logs, supervision documentation, and compliance records
  • Participate in professional development, CST meetings, and supervision as required
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience serving as a case manager within a Child Study Team
  • Urban or charter school experience
  • Experience with inclusive service delivery and curriculum-aligned therapy
  • Prior clinical supervision or mentorship of early-career clinicians
  • Experience with EdPlan as a special education management system
