Requirements
  • A degree in Architecture or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with retail rollout or multi-site commercial projects, including site adaptation of prototypical designs.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam.
  • A strong understanding of building codes, especially the International Building Code, California Building Code, and Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, with the ability to apply them effectively to drawing sets.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience leading coordination efforts with clients, consultants, and team members.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Project Manager and help guide designers in producing and issuing accurate sets of construction documents and other required client deliverables.
  • Coordinate with landlords, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consultants, and structural consultant teams to ensure complete and timely project delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and train junior designers.
  • Research, review, and implement California Building Code and International Building Code requirements.
  • Address plan-check comments from local jurisdictions.
  • Issue construction documents for bid and permit.
  • Perform site surveys and punch walks.
  • Perform job-site visits to review construction progress and prepare and issue field reports.
  • Participate in construction administration, including responding to requests for information, revising drawings based on requests for information, bulletins, and addenda, and reviewing submittals.
  • Travel as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of SketchUp and Photoshop.
  • Experience delegating tasks to junior staff and conducting thorough quality-control reviews.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements in drawing production and team workflows.
  • Experience working within a multi-office, cross-time-zone firm structure.
