- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A current Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor credential is required, or the ability to complete requirements to obtain a CASAC (T) within six months of hire.
- At least one year of clinical or quality assurance experience in a behavioral healthcare or human services organization, or one year of demonstrated clinical experience in substance use or mental health treatment, is required.
- In-depth knowledge of HIPAA, OASAS, and 42 CFR regulations is required.
- Working knowledge of quality assurance and utilization review systems is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record systems is required.
- Experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds is required.
- The ability to accurately document records according to program standards is required.
- The ability to work independently is required.
- Conduct timely scheduled and required utilization reviews for residential services sites.
- Conduct timely and complete quality and appropriateness reviews on a representative sample of treatment records for residential services sites.
- Attend monthly and other required utilization review committee meetings.
- Prepare accurate and timely utilization review committee minutes and reports.
- Participate in the agency's Quality Improvement and Utilization Management Committee.
- Provide supervisory support to CASAC Counselors and Peer Workers as needed, under the supervisory guidance of the Management/Leadership Team.
- Monitor and evaluate ongoing chart audits.
- Provide direct care services to clients as needed.
- Assist with maintaining the agency's OASAS accreditation for the program, including standards review and conformance auditing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Higher education in the human services field is preferred.
- Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are desired.
