Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Post Graduation degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
  • At least 15 years of experience in construction or commissioning of mission-critical facilities is required.
  • Proven experience delivering hyperscale or enterprise Data Centers in India or internationally is required.
  • Strong understanding of Tier standards, such as Uptime Institute standards or equivalent frameworks, is required.
  • Deep technical expertise in critical power and cooling infrastructure is required.
  • Strong knowledge of power quality analysis and reliability testing is required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large multidisciplinary teams is required.
  • Strong contractual, commercial, and change management understanding is required.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills are required.
  • The role requires strategic leadership, operational execution, risk-based decision-making, root cause analysis review, crisis and incident management, commercial awareness, quality and performance compliance, and the ability to manage culturally diverse teams across regions.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee commissioning across multiple Data Center sites.
  • Establish standardized site execution strategies aligned with corporate and client objectives.
  • Prepare commissioning implementation plans and commissioning management plans.
  • Provide leadership to Site Managers, Construction Managers, and commissioning teams.
  • Ensure consistent safety, quality, and commissioning delivery standards across project locations.
  • Direct mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and associated commissioning activities for hyperscale Data Centers.
  • Ensure critical systems achieve reliability, redundancy, and resilience targets before energization.
  • Enforce structured Level 0–5 commissioning processes where applicable.
  • Drive readiness for Integrated Systems Testing and final client acceptance.
  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of high-voltage and low-voltage distribution systems, substations, uninterruptible power supply systems, automatic transfer switches, emergency diesel generators, load bank testing, battery energy storage systems, chilled water plants, CRAH and CRAC units, cooling systems, BMS and EPMS integration, heat load testing, chiller plant management systems, and power quality monitoring and analysis.
  • Ensure systems meet uptime, redundancy, and service-level agreement requirements.
  • Champion a zero-harm safety culture aligned with OSHA or equivalent standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory approvals, electrical inspectorate requirements, and local authority regulations.
  • Conduct site audits and inspections and implement corrective actions.
  • Act as the senior on-site representative for clients, consultants, and hyperscale operators.
  • Lead high-level coordination meetings and provide manager-level reporting on progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Align stakeholders on commissioning deliverables, energization milestones, and go-live readiness.
  • Drive project execution against master program milestones.
  • Identify cross-site risks, resource gaps, and schedule conflicts.
  • Collaborate with Project Directors and Commercial teams to manage scope variations, claims, and cost impacts.
  • Implement recovery plans when project timelines are at risk.
  • Monitor team performance, productivity, and adherence to service contracts.
  • Oversee site-level budget control with regional teams.
  • Validate milestone completions tied to payment and commissioning achievement.
  • Provide structured weekly and monthly reporting to senior leadership.
  • Ensure documentation, certifications, and as-built records are complete before handover.
  • Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement across national projects.
  • Support Data Centre and building commissioning projects in other global regions.
  • Perform other duties related to CAI projects as assigned.

  • Experience managing multi-site or Pan India project portfolios is preferred.
