Auditor joins Cumbrian practice Saint & Co from Crowe.

Auditor joins Cumbrian practice Saint & Co from Crowe. An auditor has swapped a global accountancy firm for a new role in Cumbria. David Jackson, who spent much of his 12-year career at Crowe, the ninth-largest accountancy network in the world, has joined Cumbrian practice Saint & Co as audit manager. Based previously at Crowe UK's Cheltenham office in his native Gloucestershire, Mr Jackson relocated to Cumbria with his wife, who is originally from the region. Mr Jackson said: "We always wanted to move to Cumbria. "Saint & Co has a really strong reputation and there's a lot of expertise across the team, and it felt like the right fit. "The company has a feel that it cares for each of its clients and it's a larger business than people might initially realise." He was particularly drawn to the firm's client base. Mr Jackson said: "Their clients include a lot of charities and small and medium-sized companies, and I'm expecting these organisations to form a significant part of my work here, which was the case earlier in my career. "In recent years at Crowe, I'd been dealing with much larger entities. "That's enjoyable in some ways, but it can be quite impersonal at times. "It's nice to get to know the clients properly and to understand what the owners and directors really want from their business, or what the trustees' aims are for a charity." During his time at Crowe, Mr Jackson managed the audit of a business with a £300 million turnover and worked with organisations across sectors including retail, manufacturing, and international non-governmental organisations (INGOs). One of his most memorable assignments involved a UK-based INGO operating in Nepal and India. Mr Jackson said: "I was their audit senior for three years and they were building schools and water sanitation projects. "I went out there to see what they were doing, and that was fascinating. "It's very gratifying to be able to help organisations, which we can do in various ways." His new role at Saint & Co will also involve mentoring apprentices. Stuart Farrer, partner at Saint & Co's Carlisle office, said: "We're absolutely delighted about David's appointment. "It says a lot about our reputation that David has chosen to come here from one of the biggest accountancy firms in the world, and his experience and expertise will be an asset to our clients and our trainees." Saint & Co has offices across Cumbria in Carlisle, Ambleside, Cockermouth, Millom, Penrith, Whitehaven, and Wigton, as well as locations in Dumfries and Annan in Dumfries and Galloway. More Stories

Crowe launches Crowe Materials Accelerator for Sales.

Crowe launches Crowe Materials Accelerator for Sales. New AI-enabled CRM solution helps materials companies streamline customer engagement, quoting, estimating and sales operations. CHICAGO (September 30, 2026) - Crowe Advisory LLC today announced the launch of the Crowe Materials Accelerator for Sales, an AI-powered solution designed to modernize commercial operations for materials companies. Built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, the solution extends a connected CRM foundation with industry-specific AI-assisted estimating, intelligent quoting, and sales workflows designed for materials companies. For many materials companies, responding to a sales opportunity still requires sellers to navigate disconnected systems, spreadsheets, engineering reviews, CAD analysis, and ERP-driven processes before they can produce an accurate quote. For manufacturers of fabricated parts, generating a quote often requires engineering reviews, manual CAD analysis and spreadsheet-based calculations that slow response times and create operational bottlenecks. Crowe Materials Accelerator for Sales applies AI throughout the quoting process to automate repetitive work, surface actionable insights and help sales teams respond with greater speed and confidence. "Materials companies need technology that understands the complexity of their products and the pace of today's market," said Andrew Callaghan, managing partner of the metals and materials group at Crowe. "Crowe Materials Accelerator for Sales embeds AI into the sales and estimating process, helping teams automate manual tasks, generate more accurate quotes and make better-informed decisions. By combining our industry experience with Microsoft AI technologies, we're helping clients transform quoting from a reactive process into a strategic competitive advantage." Crowe Materials Accelerator for Sales extends Dynamics 365 Sales across the commercial lifecycle - from customer engagement and sales activity tracking, through AI-assisted estimating and quote creation, to integration with Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management for quote-to-order and operational handoff. The solution's AI-assisted estimating capabilities simplify fabricated part quoting by analyzing CAD file uploads, automatically cleaning geometry, generating parametric shapes when CAD files are unavailable, optimizing true-shape nesting and calculating material and processing costs. By reducing manual engineering effort and streamlining complex estimating workflows, the solution helps sales teams deliver faster, more accurate quotes while maintaining continuity from initial customer engagement through production and fulfillment. Crowe Materials Accelerator for Sales represents the latest evolution of Crowe's Microsoft-based offerings for the materials industry, connecting customer engagement and sales execution with the operational systems that ultimately determine what can be produced, delivered, and fulfilled. About Crowe Crowe operates in an alternative practice structure and provides professional services through two separate entities: Crowe LLP delivers audit and attest services, and Crowe Advisory LLC provides tax, advisory, consulting, and other nonattest services. The Crowe Global network consists of more than 300 independent accounting and advisory services firms in more than 150 countries around the globe, making it one of the largest accounting networks in the world (as of July 2026). As independent members of Crowe Global, Crowe LLP and Crowe Advisory LLC serve clients worldwide.

Crowe BGK selects Fieldguide as transformation partner, modernizing the firm through agentic AI.

Crowe BGK selects Fieldguide as transformation partner, modernizing the firm through agentic AI. Amanda Waldmann This partnership is announced as Fieldguide also embeds CPA Canada's Professional Engagement Guide into its AI platform, creating a seamless workflow for Crowe BGK's engagements SAN FRANCISCO - September 29, 2026 - Fieldguide, the leading transformation partner for agentic audit and advisory, today announced that Crowe BGK, a full-service accounting and advisory firm with offices in Montreal and Ottawa, has selected Fieldguide as its AI partner. Through this partnership, Crowe BGK will modernize its delivery of assurance engagements. The focused adoption of Fieldguide for their assurance engagements is the latest step in Crowe BGK's ongoing mission to embed leading tools into its workflows at a pace that keeps it ahead of the industry, while maintaining Crowe BGK's commitment to excellence in the insights and support it provides its clients. This is impactful not only for Crowe's AI transformation but also, more broadly, for the industry, as it is the first Canadian firm to embark on such a partnership with Fieldguide. "Our goal with this partnership is to give our teams access to a platform that aligns with our ambition for the firm, as a supplement - not a replacement - for the work the team already does well," said Brian Kreisman, Managing Partner of Crowe BGK. "We have spent the last several years building a culture that moves quickly on new technology, and Fieldguide is the natural next step in that journey." "The assurance profession is changing," says Aaron J Noga, CPA, Partner - Assurance Leader, "and so is the business model that has supported it for decades. The window to wait and see is closing, so we've made our bet on the future. By becoming the first accounting firm in Canada to adopt Fieldguide, we're combining the expertise and professional judgment of our people with technology and AI to rethink how assurance is delivered. That means more meaningful work for our people, more time understanding our clients' businesses and risks, and greater insight, quality, and value for our clients. We don't want to simply adapt to the future of assurance; we want to help shape it." "Digital transformation should do more than accelerate existing processes - it should fundamentally transform how our professionals work," adds Angela Giannoumis, CPA Auditor, MSc, Director of Digital Transformation and Assurance Innovation. "Fieldguide will give them more time to do what they do best: exercise judgment, think critically, solve complex problems, and engage meaningfully with clients. That is the true promise of AI in assurance. It does not replace professional expertise; it creates more space for that expertise to make an impact." This news from Crowe BGK is announced as CPA Canada's trusted Professional Engagement Guide (PEG) content becomes available throughout Fieldguide's AI platform for audit and advisory. This partnership gives Canadian firms, like Crowe BGK, a single, governed workflow for high-quality engagements. "Crowe BGK stood out as a potential partner because they have already done the hard part: centering their clients' needs while becoming ready for a future supported by agentic AI. Their position as a pioneer in AI adoption made this an easy firm for us to get excited about," said Jin Chang, Co-Founder and CEO of Fieldguide. "Now, Fieldguide gives their auditors a platform that takes on the heavy lifting of data ingestion, so their people can focus on judgment and relationships, and their clients get the benefit of that capacity." Fieldguide's platform embeds AI capabilities across the engagement lifecycle, with structured workflows, transparency, and human oversight. Crowe's initial implementation of Fieldguide creates a seamless transition in their assurance engagements, empowering Crowe's team to prioritize their time on what best serves their clients.
