Virtualization Engineer
About the job
- At least 3 years of experience with VMware Site Recovery Manager.
- At least 5 years of VMware experience in a production environment, with strong knowledge of vSphere 4.x, 5.x, and 6.x.
- Ability to work in process-mature production environments.
- Ability to prepare documentation and implementation plans according to defined timelines.
- Exposure to Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Red Hat 5 and 6, and performance monitoring in a large vSphere 4.x environment.
- Mandatory VMware VCP6-DCA certification on ESX 6.0 and VCAP-DCA certification on ESX 5.5.
- Plan, design, develop, and maintain production, development, and test server environments.
- Install, configure, migrate, upgrade, and patch large VMware environments.
- Design and build environments according to requestor or client requirements.
- Design and test environments against corporate technical standards.
- Evaluate customers' technical capabilities and provide feedback and recommendations.
- Troubleshoot and tune VMware environments and implement high-availability strategies in critical production environments.
- Provide VMware design expertise to software development teams and design, review, develop, and implement production environments.
- Exposure to Windows Server 2003 and 2008 and Red Hat 5 and 6.
- Experience preparing documentation and implementation plans according to defined timelines.
- Experience with performance monitoring in a large vSphere 4.x environment.
- VMware VCAP-DCD certification.
- Microsoft Windows MCSE 2003 and/or MCITP 2008 certification.
- Red Hat RHCE certification.
- Cisco CCNA certification.
- Experience with release and configuration management within Information Technology Infrastructure Library processes.
- Global experience.
