Electronic Arts (EA) publishes and distributes video games across consoles, PCs, and mobile devices. It creates games and extends their life with live services, such as downloadable content (DLC), in-game purchases, and subscriptions, to keep players engaged over time. Its products are sold as digital downloads and physical copies, with additional value through ongoing content and a subscription plan called EA Play that grants access to a library of games and perks. Compared with competitors, EA blends a broad lineup of genres and platforms with a steady revenue model based on live services and memberships, rather than relying only on initial game launches. Its goal is to inspire the world through play while building stable, recurring income by maintaining active player communities and expanding engagement across geographies.

Hands on: NHL 27 is my favourite in years, and reminds me of A classic Xbox 360 feature. Best since NHL 14? Even though I was born in the UK, I've always been a massive hockey fan over the years, and it all stems from playing EA Sports' NHL 98 all the way back in the big box PC days - I've played pretty much every entry in the series since. It's been a little hard to get overly excited about NHL in recent times though, mainly due to the relatively few improvements that are made from year-to-year. The series evidently operates on a much smaller budget compared to the likes of EA Sports FC and Madden, and therefore the development team hones in on one or two key features for each new release, and everything else remains mostly the same. With NHL 27, the two key features are Connected Franchise and an overhauled presentation suite. I haven't been able to try the former yet (NHL 27 isn't even out until September 4th in early access and September 11th for everyone else), but I'm pleased to say that I'm loving the presentation upgrades in this year's game. Basically, what they've done here is added new intros, new replays, new close-up crowd reactions, a refreshing new commentary team (long overdue!) and most importantly new specific elements to each NHL arena, making it feel much more like you're playing in unique locations. They've even gone one step further and licensed official goal songs and other hype songs that add a ton of immersion from a presentation perspective. Pure Xbox is talking songs like Kernkraft 400 by Zombie Nation, Rock And Roll All Nite by Kiss, Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis, Song 2 by Blur, and so many other legendary hockey tunes. You'll hear all of these in the menus and during team-specific goal songs, but some of them also crop up during mid-game cutscenes where the jumbotron flashes to "Make Some Noise!" and you see the crowd getting into it. EA also says that they'll be adding official jumbotron graphics for various NHL teams over time. Just have a look at this soundtrack! It's easily my favourite NHL soundtrack of all time: And yes, this reminds me of a classic Xbox 360 feature - the ability to rip CDs and add custom music back in the day. I still play the likes of NHL 14 and NHL 2K11 simply because they support this feature natively, and used to spend hours generating 30-second music clips with just the right amount of reverb to make everything feel authentic for goal songs, break-in-play music, penalty music and everything else. It's a massive shame Pure Xbox don't get this anymore, but NHL 27 is easily the next best thing for people like me in the modern era. As for the gameplay itself, it's pretty similar to NHL 26 but with a few neat improvements, such as the addition of "Contextual Strategy Shifts" where you'll be prompted to switch strategies with a single button press if the coach suggests it, and the AI will do the same as well. When the AI switches strategy and goes on the offensive while shortening their lines to try and get a goal, the added aggression and pressure that comes with it is noticeable. EA Sports is also making a big deal about new Playbooks that have been added to each team to make them play more authentically, and you definitely feel a difference between certain tactical styles, but perhaps not as much as EA wants you to. Still, it's a decent new feature all the same, and it works in tandem with on-the-fly strategy changes. I'm still of the belief that the Frostbite Engine has never been a beneficial thing for EA's modern sports releases - it can look so clunky in terms of animations and that definitely applies here as well - but in general I think NHL 27 plays a decent game of hockey that I'm certainly having fun with so far. It's a tiny bit buggy (based on pre-release code) and there are still some goals and offensive plays that feel slightly unrealistic at times, but it also largely feels competitive, varied, balanced and enjoyable against the AI - on Superstar difficulty at least. I know you probably want to hear more about Connected Franchise, which is the online franchise mode that only supports human players and not AI right now, but I'm going to need a bit more time to dig into it and find a league to be active in. It's definitely something I plan to play a lot of this year, but I'll need to locate some dedicated people for it! At the moment, I'm just playing Franchise Mode and Ultimate Team for the most part, which to be honest are generally identical to last year. That probably sounds a little dull on paper, but all of the presentation improvements have really elevated my experience and made me want to actively play NHL 27 compared to recent entries in the series. I really hope they keep adding to this in NHL 28 and beyond, and I'd love to see them go one step further and add official intro music, real arena announcers, even more authentic crowd reactions, and various other things. Listen, I get it when people complain that NHL isn't at its peak anymore and EA Sports isn't putting enough attention on it these days, but NHL 27 is quite easily my favourite hockey game of the Xbox Series X|S era, and that's even without diving into its most notable new feature in Connected Franchise. It's a game that was built for people like me who crave more immersion in their sports titles, and even though there's still loads more room for improvement across the board, I'm suddenly planning to play a lot of Xbox hockey over the next 12 months! NHL 27 gets a free 10-hour Xbox Game Pass Ultimate trial this Friday! Will you be playing it? Tell Pure Xbox below.
MMOEXP FC 27 Ultimate Team deep dive: all new features explained. Sep 3, 2026 - 10:59 EA Sports FC 27 is bringing some of the biggest Ultimate Team changes in recent years. From a brand-new FUT Gallery system to redesigned SBC mechanics and new ways to collect rewards, EA is changing how players build, manage, and experience their clubs. What major upgrades can FUT fans expect when the new season begins? For players preparing early, having enough FC 27 Coins can help with signing players, upgrading squads, and adapting to the new FUT economy. What major changes can fans expect this year? FUT Gallery Introduces a New Way to Collect Cards One of the biggest additions coming to FC 27 Ultimate Team is the FUT Gallery. Instead of only focusing on the players currently in your squad, the new system turns your club history into a collectible experience. Players will be able to complete themed collections based on leagues, nations, clubs, and special campaigns. Cards that have passed through your club can contribute to your Gallery progress, meaning every pack pull and player acquisition could have long-term value. Completing sets will also unlock rewards, giving collectors another reason to chase different types of cards. This could create a new layer of strategy for FUT players, as some cards may become valuable not only because of their gameplay ability but also because of their importance in completing Gallery collections. SBCs Become Faster and More User-Friendly Squad Building Challenges have always been one of the most popular parts of Ultimate Team, but many players have complained about the time required to complete them. FC 27 aims to simplify the SBC experience by reducing unnecessary steps and making squad submissions easier. Instead of spending a long time organizing players, users may have a smoother system for selecting eligible items and completing objectives faster. For players who regularly complete SBCs, this change could save hours throughout the season and make managing club resources much more convenient. Holographic Cards Add More Collection Value Another exciting FUT 27 feature is the introduction of Holographic player items. These special versions focus on rarity and visual appeal rather than different gameplay statistics. Holographic cards could make pack openings more exciting while adding another collectible element to the Ultimate Team market. Players may begin chasing specific versions of cards because of their appearance, rarity, or Gallery value rather than just their ratings. This could also influence the FUT economy, as rare versions of popular players may become highly desirable among collectors. Discover more National News Subscription Blogging Platform Access More Flexibility With Evolutions and Squad Building Evolutions are also expected to receive improvements in FC 27, giving players more control over how certain footballers develop. Instead of following one fixed upgrade path, players may have more choices when improving their favorite cards. This could make lower-rated players more competitive and encourage creative squad-building strategies beyond simply using the highest-rated cards. How These Changes Could Affect FUT Economy With more reasons to collect cards, complete sets, and chase special versions, the FC 27 Ultimate Team market could become more dynamic than before. Player values may depend on more than just performance, with rarity, collection potential, and Gallery requirements becoming important factors. For players building stronger squads in FC 27, FIFA 27 Coins for sale can help with player signings, upgrades, and adapting to the FUT market. Use code "Specific" for 8% off at MMOEXP.com.
Electronic Arts' share price has risen in recent months, with a 30-day return of 2.19% and 90-day return of 4.44%. Total shareholder return stands at 30.77% over one year and 73.59% over three years. The company closed at $209.70, above the most followed fair value estimate of approximately $202.80 based on analyst modelling. This suggests the stock may be roughly 3% overvalued. EA reported annual revenue of $7.8 billion and net income of $1.1 billion. Bulls highlight the company's strategic focus on expanding live services and new game launches, including Skate and Battlefield. The relaunch of American Football and continued success of FC Mobile in fast-growing markets are expected to boost net bookings. However, pressure points remain, including softer Apex Legends net bookings and broader consumer spending risks.

EA, Ubisoft & Embark back NVIDIA's RTX Spark games. Wed, 26th Aug 2026 (Yesterday) Electronic Arts, Embark and Ubisoft will add support for RTX Spark in upcoming PC games, NVIDIA said. The move expands the list of publishers backing the platform ahead of its launch later this year. Support will cover several established and upcoming titles, including EA Sports F1 25 and Apex Legends from EA, Anno 117: Pax Romana from Ubisoft, and ARC Raiders and The Finals from Embark Studios. Those publishers join earlier supporters announced in May, including Krafton, NetEase, Riot Games and Xbox, as NVIDIA works to build a broader software base for RTX Spark before it reaches the market. RTX Spark is NVIDIA's Windows PC platform, combining RTX graphics features with local artificial intelligence functions and content creation tools. For games, it supports technologies including DLSS and Reflex. Game support NVIDIA said it is working with developers and hardware partners to ensure leading PC games run on RTX Spark devices. It is pitching the platform as a single-chip system for Windows PCs that can handle modern game graphics alongside other computing tasks. Support for mainstream games is likely to be a key test of adoption. New PC platforms often depend on publisher backing and technical integration to ensure performance, compatibility and online services work as expected at launch. Ubisoft highlighted image detail as one area of focus for its title on the new hardware. "We're excited to bring Anno 117: Pax Romana to a new generation of RTX-powered PCs," said Stéphane Jankowski, executive producer of Anno 117: Pax Romana at Ubisoft. "Our teams build the game to be seen wide: full districts, long sightlines, thousands of details at once. Seeing RTX Spark hold that level of fidelity from a single chip is genuinely impressive," Jankowski said. Anti-cheat focus NVIDIA also said it has been working with EA to add native support for EA Javelin Anticheat on RTX Spark. This will include EA multiplayer titles such as EA Sports F1 25. Anti-cheat systems have become a central part of online PC gaming, particularly for large multiplayer titles that run across different devices and operating systems. Their inclusion can be as important as graphics support because some games will not function fully without them. By addressing anti-cheat support alongside game compatibility, NVIDIA appears to be targeting a common obstacle for newer PC architectures and software environments. Multiplayer publishers typically require these systems to work reliably before opening access to broad player communities. Wider announcements Alongside the RTX Spark update, NVIDIA outlined a broader set of gaming product announcements tied to Gamescom. These include the release of DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, now available and using a second-generation transformer model to improve image quality in ray-traced and path-traced scenes. The technology replaces traditional denoisers with an AI model trained to reconstruct pixels in parts of a ray-traced frame where rays were not sampled. NVIDIA also said path tracing is being added to Control Resonant and 007 First Light. Other titles and services mentioned in the update included Gears of War: E-Day, which will include RTX Mega Geometry alongside ray tracing and DLSS 4.5, and cloud gaming service GeForce Now, which is adding new DLSS 4.5 controls and support for more devices. NVIDIA also said RTX Remix is continuing work on updated versions of older PC games, with a Painkiller RTX mod update available now and an RTX version of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind in development. The latest software and game support announcements show how NVIDIA is trying to expand the use of RTX features across both local and cloud-based PC gaming. The addition of publisher support, anti-cheat integration and image processing updates suggests it is building the practical software framework RTX Spark devices need to run mainstream titles from launch.
