  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives in a highly matrixed financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of the economics of custody, managed accounts, and alternative investments, with demonstrated ability to drive platform monetization and business growth.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with credibility to influence C-suite executives, sophisticated advisors, and external partners.
  • Ability to balance high-level strategic planning with hands-on operational execution, risk management, and platform governance.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
Responsibilities
  • Establish and execute the long-term strategic vision for the RIA custody platform, integrated managed accounts ecosystem, and alternative assets custody framework to maintain market competitiveness and drive asset growth.
  • Design and implement strategies to increase platform adoption, deepen RIA relationships, and generate incremental revenue through new products, pricing models, lending against alternative assets, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead financial analyses, market sizing, and competitive benchmarking to evaluate strategic investments and build business cases for platform expansion.
  • Serve as the senior relationship owner for a portfolio of strategic separately managed account managers, Turnkey Asset Management Program partners, and alternative asset managers.
  • Oversee end-to-end onboarding of new managers, complex RIA transitions, and alternative asset fund structures, ensuring operational readiness, model delivery setup, and go-live execution.
  • Act as the primary executive product voice with key clients, prospects, and industry forums, leading platform overviews, alternative asset capability presentations, manager deep-dives, and high-level sales presentations.
  • Own the product roadmap for RIA custody, managed accounts, and alternative assets, prioritizing model delivery, custom fee structures, tax management, and third-party alternative platform integrations.
  • Drive development of digital-first alternative asset custody capabilities, including automated subscription document processing, anti-money-laundering and know-your-customer workflows, capital call and distribution tracking, and consolidated reporting.
  • Translate advisor feedback and market trends into scalable platform capabilities, partnering with Engineering and Technology to ensure execution.
  • Oversee cross-functional project plans, manage dependencies, and direct prioritization of product enhancements and technology development.
  • Align and coordinate operations, trading, and client service teams to ensure accounts, managed platforms, and alternative asset custody processes meet institutional standards.
  • Establish scalable operational and due diligence workflows for alternative asset custody, including asset onboarding, valuation updates, and position reconciliation.
  • Serve as the escalation point for platform and alternative asset operational issues, drive root-cause analysis, and implement scalable process improvements.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk on contracting, ongoing oversight obligations, and platform policies to align with regulatory frameworks and qualified custodian rules.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators—including assets under management, net flows, model delivery timeliness, alternative asset onboarding cycle times, and error rates—and drive partner remediation when necessary.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master of Business Administration, Chartered Financial Analyst designation, or equivalent advanced credentials is preferred.

About the company

Goldman Sachs advises companies and governments on mergers, raises money for them by selling their stocks and bonds, and trades securities for big investors such as hedge funds and pension funds. It led Ford Motor's 1956 stock market debut, then the largest share sale in US history. Traders buy and sell stocks, bonds, currencies, and commodities for clients and lend them money, while bankers earn a fee on each deal they advise on or arrange. Its asset and wealth management arm invests for institutions and wealthy families and charges fees based on the money it oversees. The firm was founded in 1869, when it began brokering short-term IOUs for New York merchants, and it is based in New York City.

What believers are saying

  • Trading drives the boom: stock-trading revenue hit a record $7.42 billion in the June 2026 quarter, up 72%.
  • Pay is climbing: compensation rose 20% to $11.5 billion in the first half of 2026, while staff grew 1%.
  • A Goldman stint opens doors: alumni Rishi Sunak, Mario Draghi and Mark Carney rose to lead Britain, Italy and Canada.

What critics are saying

  • AI is costing jobs: Goldman's October 2025 AI plan came with a "limited reduction in roles" and slower hiring.
  • Expect five office days a week: Goldman reaffirmed the rule in 2023, and its CEO calls remote work an aberration.
  • Stock awards have lost value: shares fell 23% from July 15 to October 8, 2026, versus 18% at Morgan Stanley.

What makes Goldman Sachs unique

  • Traders outearn Goldman's famous merger advisers: trading made 57% of first-half 2026 revenue, versus 8% from advice.
  • Goldman is Wall Street's top merger adviser: it earned $4.6 billion advising on 2025 deals, versus JPMorgan's $3.1 billion.
  • The top prize is still partner: though public since 1999, Goldman named just 95 partners from 46,000-plus staff in 2024.

Goldman Sachs boosts Quantum Development Finance facility to $889M

Goldman Sachs has committed up to an additional £500m to Quantum Development Finance, potentially expanding the specialist lender's funding capacity to £700m. The expanded long-term facility represents potential funding capacity rather than capital already advanced to borrowers. Quantum provides development and bridging finance to SME housebuilders and property investors across England and Wales, offering loans typically between £1m and £30m. The lender has financed approximately 4,000 homes since its 2023 founding and passed £1bn in cumulative funding during the summer. The commitment contrasts with pressure elsewhere in development finance, where firms face challenges from build-cost inflation and subdued markets. Quantum also partners with alternative investment manager AB CarVal for long-term funding.
