Requirements
  • BS or MS in CS/CE/EE or equivalent industry experience with 7+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting firmware for complex board designs.
  • Strong C coding ability for embedded systems.
  • Experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors.
  • Experience developing firmware in bare-metal or RTOS environments.
  • Solid understanding and application of coding best practices, board bring up and debugging.
  • Competence with common bus protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, etc.
  • Competence with software development processes and tools such as git, Github, JIRA, etc.
  • Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current-probes, and automation of tests.
  • Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Develop low-level firmware/software for microcontrollers, create reusable device drivers, integrate system-level features and architect changes to support an ever-growing codebase.
  • Troubleshoot issues that span the electrical and software boundaries, with solid skills using both lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, DMM, etc.) and basic software debugging tools.
  • Work closely with other electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to deliver fully functional products.
  • Help select microcontrollers and peripherals and review schematics with electrical engineering team.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment supporting new developments and customer operated hardware.
  • Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews.
