About the job
- A minimum of two years of commercial door or dock work experience, new-construction commercial estimating experience, or building-material industry experience is stated; the posting describes this experience as strongly preferred.
- Experience with blueprints, plans, and specifications is highly desired.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills are required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer service skills are required.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Strong language, written, and mathematical skills are required.
- Successful completion of employment verifications, a background check, a drug screen, and a driving-record check if applicable is required before hire.
- Rapidly develop or possess advanced skills using the company’s estimating processes, procedures, estimating software, and other business software programs, including Excel, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, BAAN, and SAM.
- Rapidly develop or possess advanced knowledge of door and dock products, including their functionality, special features, usage options, and pricing variations based on job needs.
- Rapidly develop understanding of core product lines, vendors, and labor standards.
- Educate the sales team on product options and assist customers with product selection to support the sale and achieve the best project outcome.
- Generate accurate project cost estimates and bids.
- Estimate advanced and complex projects of limited project size, and write proposals clearly and concisely for manager review and approval before customer review.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Knowledge or experience in the construction or building materials industry is strongly preferred.
