  • U.S. citizenship is required based on contract requirements.
  • A master's degree from a CSWE-accredited school is required for LCSW candidates.
  • A master's degree from a Marriage and Family Therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education, or a qualifying degree in an allied mental health field with equivalent Marriage and Family Therapy study, is required for LMFT candidates.
  • A current and unrestricted U.S. Licensed Clinical Social Worker license is required.
  • A current and unrestricted U.S. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist license is required.
  • Two years of full-time post-master's degree experience within the last three years in professional clinical counseling service programs for men, women, and children who are abusive or abused is required.
  • Two years of experience working with children, families, and groups in clinical or community organization settings, or as a program manager with demonstrated program-planning responsibilities involving education and intervention services and community collaboration, is required.
  • Experience working with professionals and agencies that provide community support and counseling intervention services to children and families is required.
  • Experience as a group therapy facilitator or co-leader is required.
  • Willingness to comply with government vaccination requirements based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, including Hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and influenza vaccinations, plus proof of a negative tuberculosis skin test, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assess families referred for suspected maltreatment and treat individuals, families, and groups whose maltreatment allegations meet the criteria for maltreatment.
  • Work with the New Parent Support Program to provide voluntary, comprehensive, primarily home-based prevention services to families to prevent family maltreatment.
  • Provide voluntary prevention counseling to individuals, families, or groups at risk for maltreatment.
  • Promote community initiatives to reduce maltreatment risk factors and foster community resiliency.
  • Act as the primary treatment provider for assigned maltreatment cases, coordinate services for families, and monitor client participation and progress using social casework, psychotherapy, and psychoeducational intervention modalities.
  • Assess safety on an ongoing basis and assist family members with safety planning.
  • Coordinate with prevention staff regarding referrals to educational services as part of intervention plans.
  • Implement community organization and social marketing strategies to increase awareness and prevent family maltreatment when recommended.
  • Collaborate with the IDS and other key organizations to promote initiatives that reduce maltreatment risk factors, identify community strengths, and foster community resiliency.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and assist with safety planning.
  • Coordinate with prevention staff regarding referrals to educational services.
