Requirements
  • Completion of a four-year approved or accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology and board certification or eligibility.
  • Completion of a three-year board-approved fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery/Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, with board certification or eligibility.
  • At least four years of post-fellowship Obstetrics and Gynecology experience.
  • A Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
  • The selected candidate must pass an initial caregiver check and recurring checks every four years under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in the clinical service initiatives of the University of Wisconsin Health System.
  • Provide obstetric and gynecologic care and oversee the continuation and development of clinical niches and focus areas.
  • Participate in the direct supervision and training of faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Collaborate with faculty colleagues from urology, colorectal surgery, and gastrointestinal medicine to advance the pelvic floor disorders program.
  • Organize and oversee the fellowship educational program.
  • Implement all necessary fellowship policies and procedures.
  • Maintain required documentation and correspondence with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the University Hospital Graduate Medical Education office, and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Vice Chair of Education.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the department fellowship coordinator.
  • Manage complex pelvic floor disorders and provide full-time call coverage for urogynecology patients and consults at UW Health and Meriter Hospitals.
  • Build an advanced subspecialty practice.
  • Work with the Gynecologic Oncology and Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology divisions to assess advanced gynecologic disease.
  • Participate in community service at the department, school, and institution levels appropriate to the faculty rank.
  • Participate in clinical, research, and academic service in the Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Division.
  • Initiate and participate in clinical research studies and quality and outcome programs.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in simulation laboratory teaching and develop advanced skills and metrics for learners.
  • Oversee the training of residents and fellows in the operating room, clinic, and inpatient unit.
  • Participate in administrative and committee work supporting the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
Desired Qualifications
  • The preferred candidate will have completed an approved fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery/Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery and have significant experience with pelvic floor surgery.
  • The preferred candidate will have a track record as an accomplished academic urogynecologist.
  • Candidates for Associate Professor or Professor must meet criteria for appointment at rank under University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the tenure track.
