Requirements
  • High School/GED required.
  • 0-2 years' experience required.
  • AART required.
  • NJDEP required.
  • BLS from American Medical Association required.
  • Graduate of American Medical Association approved Radiology Technologist Program; NJ Department of Environmental Protection license required upon hire.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with on call.
  • Operate fluoroscopy unit along with all supporting equipment needed to perform interventional procedures required.
  • Communication – Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers required.
Responsibilities
  • Assists interventionalists in all procedures within the scope of interventional Radiology and Vascular surgery to include but not limited to oncology, vascular and trauma.
  • Skill set must be maintained to handle supplies/instrumentation associated with interventional procedures.
  • Must be able to assist physicians in the capacity of both a scrub and circulating technologist.
  • Maintains work area: Reports maintenance issues for equipment, monitors supplies and deficiencies.
  • Adheres to all Infection Prevention policies, utilizing the appropriate PPE needed.
  • Stays current and participates departmental training offered.
  • Demonstrates courteous behavior, positive attitude, etc. through polite communication with all co-workers/customers.
  • Understands and appreciates the need to provide good customer service, both internal and external.
  • Participates in clinical activities (i.e. assists with patient flow/care, helps to optimize throughput of patients via Radiology Transport).
  • Remains compliant of timekeeping rules: Avoids early, late and unauthorized entries.
  • Adheres to Departmental procedures, fulfills compliance with life safety, fire and hazardous waste, Radiation Safety, and Infection Prevention requirements.
  • Attends staff meetings and reviews daily huddles to keep current on department communications.
Desired Qualifications
  • 3-5 years' experience preferred.
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • H.S. Diploma, Certificate of Completion/Degree from accredited Radiology Program or Vascular Program, associate degree preferred.
