About the job
- A bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- A Department of Defense 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification, such as Security+, CySA+, or CISSP.
- Experience with Risk Management Framework, Assessment and Authorization, Plan of Action and Milestones, and Authorization to Operate documentation using XACTA or eMASS.
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning and compliance tracking using ACAS and IAVM.
- Experience securing Linux and Windows systems, applying Security Technical Implementation Guides, patching, and system hardening.
- Knowledge of NIST 800-series publications and incident response processes.
- US citizenship.
- An active Top Secret clearance or a clearance that was active within the past two years, with SCI eligibility.
- Apply Risk Management Framework processes to support system Assessment and Authorization, including control selection, implementation, assessment, and continuous monitoring.
- Develop, review, and maintain security documentation, including System Security Plans, Plans of Action and Milestones, Security Assessment Reports, and Authorization to Operate artifacts, using tools such as XACTA or eMASS.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and compliance scans, including ACAS, and track remediation of findings and IAVM requirements.
- Implement and validate security controls aligned with NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and related Department of Defense guidance.
- Support system hardening, patching, and configuration management in compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides for Linux, Windows, and network devices.
- Monitor systems for security events and support incident response and risk mitigation activities.
- Assess the security impacts of system changes and support configuration control boards.
- Collaborate with system engineers, administrators, and DevSecOps teams to integrate security throughout the system lifecycle.
- Provide cybersecurity risk input to program leadership, Authorizing Officials, and stakeholders.
- Scripting or development experience with Python, Java, or React.
- Experience with DevSecOps tools and pipelines.
- Experience with Linux distributions such as Red Hat or CentOS, databases, web applications, or big data platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile environments and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with NIST SP 800-171 and System Security Engineering.
