Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • Master's degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, budgeting, and administrative operations, preferably in a healthcare, academic, or research setting
  • Experience with budget preparation and financial analysis
  • Proficiency with Hyperion
  • Experience preparing departmental budgets using Workday
  • Ability to monitor and analyze financial and statistical data, report variances, and develop forecasts
  • Ability to support strategic planning and practice management initiatives
  • Experience overseeing clinical practice accounts and JUP-related financial transactions (e.g., deposits, subcontracts, IDTs, expense report reconciliation for physicians)
  • Ability to review monthly financial statements and report budget variances
  • Familiarity with coordinating with university departments (Controller’s Office, College Finance, JUP, HR) and payroll processes
  • Experience managing faculty compensation data and salary accruals; pension, leave audits, wage tax coding
  • Experience with purchasing processes and university and grant-related financial transactions (deposits, IDTs, purchases)
  • Experience approving research-related activities
  • Experience collaborating with offices on visa-related matters (Office of International Affairs)
  • Strong communication and liaison skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and leadership
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting in an academic health care setting
Responsibilities
  • Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
  • Prepare departmental budgets using Workday, including schedules and reconciliation
  • Monitor and analyze financial and statistical data; report variances and trends, initiating follow up as appropriate
  • Develop and update financial forecasts; explain budget variances to leadership
  • Support strategic planning and practice management initiatives
  • Oversee clinical practice accounts and JUP-related financial transactions (e.g., deposits, subcontracts, IDTs, oversight of expense report reconciliation for physicians)
  • Review monthly financial statements and report budget variances
  • Assist with year-end bonus calculations and RVU/scorecard analysis
  • Departmental oversight of faculty compensation plan ensuring accurate accruals and managing annual salary surveys and audits
  • Manage faculty salary data in MyTime, including pension, leave audits, and wage tax coding
  • Oversight of purchasing processes
  • Manage University and grant-related financial transactions (e.g., deposits, IDTs, purchases) in collaboration with academic finance and RACE
  • Approve research-related activities
  • Facilitate resolution of financial issues with University departments (e.g., Controller’s Office, College Finance, JUP, HR) as well as payroll
  • Collaborate with the Office of International Affairs on visa-related matters
  • Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field preferred
  • Experience with federal grants accounting and compliance in a university setting
  • Strong proficiency with Workday and Hyperion in budgeting used for academic health care systems
  • Experience with RVU calculations and scorecards in radiology or similar department
