About the job
- High school diploma and at least two years of work toward a bachelor’s degree, usually in accounting.
- Assist in recording transactions in ledgers and preparing trial balances and simple financial statements using computer software.
- Assist in reconciling accounts to control accounts.
- Assist in computing schedules of accruals, property and equipment, and calculating depreciation expense.
- Assist in performing audit or review procedures as assigned by supervisors.
- Assist in preparing payroll tax, sales or other local tax, and certain personal income tax returns.
- Assist in performing other accounting, auditing, and tax duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
- Assist in compiling workpapers and other accounting reports needed for audits.
