Requirements
  • Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure revenue is generated according to individual sales quotas and track financials by market segment, month, and quarter.
  • Assist the Director of Sales in creating annual sales plans for each market segment.
  • Meet and exceed individual sales goals and fulfill sales-call quotas and tracking requirements.
  • Understand the competitive set and key selling points against competing venues.
  • Handle initial phone calls and electronic inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Develop targeted lists of companies and organizations within assigned categories.
  • Build, maintain, and target client databases from internal and external sources.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Convention and Visitors Bureaus, professional organizations, chambers of commerce, hotels, and vendors.
  • Help ensure optimal perception of the venue within the community and professional organizations.
  • Maintain company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure and monitor the timely completion and distribution of required reports and planning trackers with the Director of Sales.
  • Maintain accurate event financial records and follow departmental and organizational processes.
  • Generate proposals, Special Events Orders, and contracts.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage post-event correspondence and supply requisitions.
  • Maintain client relations and communicate current event information on the talent calendar.
  • Maintain accurate files in Caterease and Rome.
  • Use and manage departmental software programs including Caterease, Cendyn, Exact Target, Rome, and Hoovers.
  • Understand operational department responsibilities, capabilities, and limitations to support guest satisfaction, event execution, and operational communication.
  • Ensure staffing levels are fulfilled by the Logistics Manager.
  • Solicit new and existing clients to meet or exceed budgetary sales expectations.
  • Create internal and external promotional programs and track their results.
  • Fulfill strategic monthly sales plans, initiatives, SMART plans, annual goals, competitive analyses, and required reports.
  • Develop sales strategies for defined market segments, industries, and conventions.
  • Build and maintain client databases in Caterease and Exact Target.
  • Solicit business through local civic and business organizations, including Convention Bureaus, Chambers of Commerce, Meeting Professionals International, Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, International Special Events Society, and Professional Convention Management Association.
  • Assist in developing sales collateral materials.
  • Assist in updating the venue sales website, online venue listings, and assigned social media applications.
  • Attend trade shows, networking events, sales blitzes, and other off-site sales efforts as directed by the Director of Sales.
  • Determine geographically and participate in marketing the venue at local and national trade shows as directed by the Director of Sales.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in catering sales, social-event sales, or wedding markets is highly preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Local market experience and relationships are preferred.

Live Nation posts record Q2 with $7.7B revenue amid legal troubles and monopoly ruling

Live Nation reported second quarter revenue of $7.7 billion, up 9% year-over-year, with operating income of $522 million, up 7%. The results follow Live Nation's settlement with the Department of Justice, which included up to $280 million in payments. The company reported $450 million in legal accruals related to ongoing litigation, including a jury finding of unlawful monopolisation. CEO Michael Rapino said more than 143 million tickets have sold through mid-July, over 14 million ahead of last year's pace.

Live Nation Q2 earnings preview: revenue expected to grow 7.8% year on year

Analysts expect revenue growth of 7.8% year-on-year this quarter, down from 16.3% growth in the same period last year. Over the past 30 days, analysts have largely maintained their estimates. The company has missed Wall Street revenue forecasts multiple times over the past two years. Live Nation shares currently trade at $180.93, with an average analyst price target of $192.50. The stock price has remained flat over the past month. Peers AMC Entertainment and Delta recently reported quarterly results, with revenue growth of 14.2% and 18.7% respectively, both exceeding estimates.
