Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1-2 years of retail banking experience is required, combining Teller and Customer Service Representative experience.
  • Prior experience fostering and developing strong customer relationships is required.
  • The candidate must be able to develop and maintain detailed knowledge of banking products and services.
  • The candidate must be willing to be cross-trained in other branch functions.
  • The candidate must have problem-solving skills and the ability to provide solutions to customer issues.
  • The candidate must present a confident, professional, and positive demeanor to customers.
  • The candidate must have verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills, including strong phone skills.
  • The candidate must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • The candidate must display sound judgment and discretion when using confidential information.
  • Weekend work, extended hours, and coverage at neighboring branch locations may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service by engaging clients professionally and resolving service-related issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Communicate the facts and features of Apple Bank products, accounts, and services to current and prospective clients.
  • Identify opportunities to acquire new or additional banking relationships, understand customer needs, offer suitable products and services, and make appropriate referrals to licensed representatives of ABS Associates of NY, Inc.
  • Establish, retain, and deepen relationships with existing and potential customers to achieve team sales and referral goals while providing quality customer service.
  • Process teller transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures, prove daily transactions, and safeguard assigned cash and negotiable instruments.
  • Assist with opening and closing the vault, safe, and ATM, and keep the customer area orderly and supplied.
  • Communicate disclosures, rules, regulations, and FDIC protection to customers when opening new accounts.
  • Maintain accurate new-account records and perform timely follow-up as needed.
  • Follow regulatory, compliance, security, audit, code-of-conduct, and operational-control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that new-account procedures, including Customer Identification Program and Bank Secrecy Act requirements, are followed.
  • Assist in training and mentoring newly hired Tellers, Customer Service Representatives, and Universal Bankers.
  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge by attending educational workshops.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.
