About the company

The Wealshire runs residential communities in Minnesota for people with Alzheimer's disease and related forms of dementia. Its care combines housing, nursing oversight and help with daily routines, with a social approach intended to preserve residents' independence and dignity as their needs change. Activity teams organize exercise, games and music alongside shared spaces such as courtyards, a coffee shop and a cinema. Families pay monthly rent and a care charge for their relative's accommodation and support, with fees linked to the level of assistance required. Founded in 2010, the privately held company is headquartered in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Formal learning accompanies care work: Wealshire trains staff in dementia care and supplies annual courses.
  • Study has financial support: Wealshire lists $4,000 yearly tuition reimbursement for employees.
  • Entry roles train beginners: Medina's care-provider assistant opening requires no experience and supports nursing-assistant schooling.

What critics are saying

  • Care time isn't separately billable: Wealshire's monthly pricing absorbs extra assistance unless the resident changes care levels.
  • Evening work limits schedules: Bloomington's practical-nurse vacancy lists a 1:45 p.m. to 10 p.m. shift.
  • Care includes end-of-life work: Wealshire assists outside hospice agencies with dementia residents.

What makes The Wealshire unique

  • Navigation shapes the building: Wealshire surrounds common spaces with resident rooms and visible staff stations.
  • Placement follows clinical assessment: Wealshire's registered nurse evaluates care needs before families select a household and bedroom.
  • Behavioral care has dedicated space: Bloomington lists separate male behavioral and high-anxiety households.
