Responsibilities
  • Investigate problems and develop solutions to address them.
  • Install, maintain, and repair Bio-techne Spatial instrumentation
  • Understand thoroughly all the technical aspects of the product
  • Run basic staining assays on the setup for testing protocols. (Training will be provided).
  • Identify customer problems and report customer feedback
  • Drive for results by consistently achieving goals and pushing to complete tasks by their deadlines.
  • Keep all service documentation up to date.
  • This position includes frequent travel on short notice. (up to 85% travel, opportunity to travel on most continents, if desired)
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 3 years’ experience in field service engineering in life sciences, research/diagnostics, or medical devices (other industries will be considered)
  • Relevant industry specific qualifications in Microsystems, Mechanical engineering, Bioengineering, electrical engineering, microscopy optics.
  • Hands on experience in basic laboratory techniques – preferable.
  • Troubleshooting, root cause analysis experience.
  • Experience in IT support for software and hardware is a plus.
  • You like interacting with people, bring advice and solutions to them, and demonstrate good customer service skills.
  • You are hands-on and like to solve problems.
  • You can collaborate with others by working in a team, share information with peers and managers.
  • You demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills, good organizational skills, punctuality, and attention to detail.

Bio-Techne stock up 37% annually, outpacing Nasdaq's 19% despite flat $1.2B revenue

Year-to-date, Bio-Techne shares climbed 23.3%, whilst advancing 37% over the past 52 years, surpassing the Nasdaq's YTD gains of 15.9% and annual returns of 19.3%. The company reported mixed financial results, with full-year sales remaining flat at $1.2 billion due to sluggish biotech funding and uneven biopharma demand. However, disciplined cost controls and operational efficiencies improved GAAP operating margins and net earnings. In its Q4 results announced in August, Bio-Techne met earnings expectations with adjusted EPS of $0.52, whilst revenue of $321.2 million exceeded Wall Street forecasts of $317.2 million.

Bio-Techne cuts emissions 49%, gets SBTi validation for 70% reduction target by 2031

Bio-Techne has achieved validation of its greenhouse gas reduction targets from the Science Based Targets initiative. The life sciences company aims to cut absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 70% by fiscal 2031 from a fiscal 2025 baseline. In fiscal 2026, Bio-Techne reduced market-based Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 49% year-over-year. The company now sources 51% of its electricity from renewable sources after transitioning its Minneapolis headquarters and St Paul GMP facility to renewable power. Bio-Techne also committed that 81% of suppliers by spend will have science-based targets by fiscal 2030. The company completed its first comprehensive Scope 3 emissions inventory during the year.
