Business Consultant - Benefits Specialist

Job Description

We're looking for a Business Consultant who knows NEC Benefits and can confidently share that knowledge with others.

As a Business Consultant, you'll deliver CTR/CTS and Housing Benefits consultancy and training to local authorities across the UK, helping customers through major Revenues & Benefits migrations, annual billing activities, software implementations and service improvement initiatives. Working as part of a forward-thinking consultancy team, you'll combine your product knowledge, practical experience and communication skills to help customers get the best possible value from their NEC solution.

At the heart of the role is helping local authority users succeed. You'll work closely with customers, understand the challenges they face and use your experience to help them get the most from NEC Revenues & Benefits. While our products continue to evolve, including the introduction of AI-driven capabilities, strong customer relationships remain essential. We're looking for people who enjoy working with customers, take pride in sharing their expertise and want to make a genuine difference to the people using our software every day.

This role would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, sharing knowledge, building lasting customer relationships and applying their operational experience to a wide variety of challenges across local government.

*Depending on your proximity to an NEC office this role will be either Hybrid or home based*

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consultancy and training on NEC Products and Service Implementations in your area of expertise.
• Deliver consultancy / training on site and via Webinar / Screen share facilities.
• Carry out presentations / demonstrations for delegates depending on facilities available, as and when required.
• Contribute to the development of new consultancy offerings for newly developed software / services.
• Make recommendations relating to best use of NEC software in line with the client’s business needs.
• Ensure all consultancy and training is delivered effectively and achieves positive customer feedback.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with the products and services feeding back any issues into the consultancy group and other internal stakeholders.
• Assist with product development including attending user groups and creation of user guides.
• Deliver quality seminars to large customer groups.
• Progress and update knowledge of relevant legislation and NEC products and services.
• Extend your own and other consultancy team members capacity to deliver consultancy through internal training and mentoring.
• Provide the flexibility to support management decisions as and when workloads and priorities require that you work for periods in related areas such as product management, business analysis, testing or support within the NEC business

Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Expertise and extensive up to date knowledge in the following business area, NEC products or Services:
  • Benefits (CTR/CTS and Housing Benefits)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to problem solve in demanding circumstances.
• Ability to work on own or part of a team and on multiple projects in parallel.
• UK Driving license and willing to work away from home as required.

Desirable Skills

• Integration / Interfaces (with NEC R&B products)
• Experience of working with customers and / or external agencies.
• Experience of delivering training and / or seminars.
