Responsibilities
- Prepare general journal entries with complete supporting documentation for Controller review.
- Prepare and maintain balance-sheet reconciliations, and investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly.
- Maintain recurring schedules and continuity schedules supporting the general ledger.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, account analyses, and budget-to-actual and period-over-period variance explanations.
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process in accordance with established deadlines.
- Partner with operations and supply-chain personnel to ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory and operating costs.
- Assist with year-end audit requirements.
- Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions as needed.
- Maintain the fixed-assets subledger and related processes.
- Support maintenance of policies and procedures documentation.
- Use Microsoft Excel to work with and analyze financial data and support business decisions.
- Maintain professionalism and clear communication while interacting with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Desired Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- An associate's degree combined with substantial relevant accounting experience may be considered.
- Two or more years of accounting experience are preferred.
- Experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is preferred.
- A background in public accounting or auditing is preferred.
- Experience in the mining, manufacturing, or construction industry is highly desirable.
