Requirements

  • Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs, including their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on individuals and their impact on families.
  • Ability to determine whether a medical emergency exists and take appropriate action when necessary.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures used in cases of alcohol or drug overdose.
  • Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and the ability to take appropriate action at each stage.
  • Demonstrated initiative, personal responsibility, and ownership of work to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual goals in written and verbal formats.
Responsibilities
  • Take clients' vital signs daily.
  • Provide client care, transportation, client activities, coordination with medical personnel, and client orientation during admissions.
  • Monitor residents' activities, groups, chore lists, weekly phone calls, and related activities.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward residents, staff, and volunteers.
  • Handle crisis situations in a calm, supportive manner.
  • Act as a liaison among medical, admissions, nursing, and clinical staff and all areas serving clients.
  • Directly assist and support medical, admissions, nursing, and clinical staff to ensure seamless transitions for clients to and from detox.
  • Work with the Nurse Practitioner to ensure residents' health and safety.
  • Perform follow-ups with clients and client referral sources as directed by the supervisor.
  • Demonstrate punctuality, organization, and proficiency in scheduling, filing, meetings, presentations, and client relations.
  • Orient clients during admission.
  • Ensure client confidentiality in compliance with 42 CFR Part 2.
