Role overview: 

We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Counsel to join our executive team. The General Counsel will be a key advisor to the company, providing expert legal counsel on a wide range of matters, overseeing legal and compliance functions, and ensuring that Nursa operates within the bounds of the law.

Responsibilities:

• Legal Strategy and Advice:

  • Develop and implement legal strategies to support Nursa’s business objectives.

  • Provide expert legal advice to the executive team on a variety of issues, including contracts, employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.

• Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the legal and compliance teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.

• Contract Negotiation and Management:

  • Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts, ensuring alignment with company policies and legal standards.

  • Work closely with various departments to mitigate legal risks associated with contractual agreements.

• Employment Law and Compliance:

  • Advise on employment-related matters, including hiring practices, employee relations, and terminations.

  • Ensure Nursa’s compliance with relevant laws and regulations, staying abreast of changes that may impact the company.

• Litigation Management:

  • Manage and collaborate with external legal counsel on litigation matters.

  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize legal risks and resolve disputes efficiently.

• Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay current on industry regulations and work closely with the compliance team to ensure Nursa’s adherence to applicable laws.

  • Develop and implement compliance programs to mitigate risks associated with regulatory changes.

• Policy Development:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and update company policies to ensure legal compliance and ethical standards.

Qualifications: 

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the bar.

• years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on [relevant areas such as corporate law, employment law, etc.].

• Proven leadership experience in managing legal and compliance teams.

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be located in Utah to be considered for this role.
