- Neurosurgical training in the United States or an equivalent non-U.S. training program is required.
- United States Medical Licensing Examination Steps 1–3 must be passed; Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates certification is required for non-U.S.-trained applicants.
- Computer skills are required.
- Previous experience with an electronic medical record is required.
- A Colorado Physician or Physician Training License is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
- A doctorate degree and graduation from an accredited medical school are required.
- An MD-Physician license from a State Medical Board is required.
- Function as a member of the neurosurgical team alongside neurosurgery faculty, one neuro-intensivist, one resident, and multiple advanced practice providers.
- Provide critical care management and operative management of patients with cranial and spinal injuries.
- Participate in elective neurosurgical cases when qualified resident participation is not available.
- Demonstrate progressive independence in patient evaluation and management.
- Coordinate presentation of cases in Morbidity and Mortality Conference during the University of Colorado Neurosurgery Grand Rounds.
- Select outcomes for root cause analysis and assign team member tasks in the monthly Denver Health Morbidity and Mortality Conference.
- Actively participate in journal clubs, neurosurgery case conferences, the neurosurgery lecture and seminar series, asynchronous learning, Greenberg review, and board preparation.
- Participate in research primarily focused on clinical and translational care.
- Provide care consistent with Denver Health's graduate medical education mission and promote diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
