Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two years of experience implementing, designing, and/or managing a variety of Electronic Health Record and clinical systems using multiple software programs and network applications is required.
  • Experience working in a clinical setting is required.
  • Experience working with clinical information systems or system implementation teams for complex projects and/or application development is required.
  • Experience in the full implementation software development cycle is required.
  • Experience managing small projects with defined duration and scope is required.
  • Ability to multitask and act as a self-starter and motivator is required.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver work within established timeframes and manage multiple large assigned projects incorporating all aspects of information systems.
  • Define, document, build, and maintain Electronic Health Record application content.
  • Create functional specification documents for content within the Electronic Health Record application and validate the content with the business owner.
  • Validate functional specifications created by Analysts I or II and provide feedback as necessary.
  • Mentor more junior colleagues in application knowledge and assist colleagues in redesigning processes in adherence to system requirements.
  • Complete thorough unit testing of all builds before handoff for functional and/or integrated testing.
  • Facilitate functional and integrated testing as requested.
  • Create and provide documentation to the testing and training team.
  • Document and report system issues through the internal chain of command, communicate with vendors where appropriate, and work with product support to resolve open support cases.
  • Apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve system issues.
  • Provide end-user support during implementation and serve as an application expert for application rollout.
  • Address post-go-live issues and requests, and prioritize work assignments for self and more junior colleagues based on project plan requirements.
  • Participate in assigned on-call coverage and provide on-call or after-hours support.
  • Communicate progress on building tasks in accordance with project milestone dates and proactively manage barriers to completing work requirements.
  • Contribute to project plan development and manage mini-projects within the defined scope of the overall project.
  • Participate in workflow design and understand system impact on end users.
  • Prepare demonstration materials for workflow discussions or new system functionality.
  • Demonstrate system functionality concisely to end users.
  • Stay current with new application functionality and enhancements.
  • Achieve and maintain application certification in accordance with departmental and organizational standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Electronic Health Record certification is preferred.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
