Atomica is a MEMS-focused manufacturing partner that designs, develops, and fabricates MEMS, photonics, biochips, and sensors. It operates as a MEMS foundry offering end-to-end services from design and photolithography to wafer bonding and testing, enabling customers to bring MEMS, photonic circuits, sensors, or biochips to life efficiently and cost-effectively. The company’s process combines 3D lithography with micro-scale optical integration to produce sophisticated devices, such as an ultra-fast MEMS-based chip for sorting live biological cells created with Miltenyi Biotec. Atomica’s competitive edge comes from its collaborative engineering approach, specialization in 3D lithography, and a recently upgraded 8-inch wafer facility that doubles device yield per wafer, improving manufacturing economics. Its goal is to expand high-quality MEMS and related devices for photonics, biomedical, and sensor markets by serving as a dependable, full-service manufacturing partner.

ATOMica, a company expanding its social coworking business nationwide, announced the 1st close of its Series B funding round on June 6. The round is led by Global Brain's Takanawa Chikyueki Fund, with JR East as the main investor and continued support from existing shareholder FFG Venture Business Partners. The funding amount is undisclosed, and the final close is expected this summer.
"Our simulation capability bridges the gap between concept and fabrication," said Darwin Enicks, CTO of Atomica. "It helps customers make informed tradeoffs on performance, yield, and reliability — before they commit to wafers. That's a big win in terms of cost, time, and product confidence."
THE DON Wehby-owned and Gary Subratie-trained filly, Atomica, was named the 2023 Horse of the Year, making this her second title in a row.
