About the job

Requirements
  • Proficiency in modern C++ (C++11/14/17 or later).
  • Experience with adaptive-step ordinary differential equation and numerical integration and linear algebra.
  • Experience with multithreading, including std::thread and thread pools, and with avoiding race conditions and false sharing.
  • Experience with manual memory management and leak-free integration with third-party C/C++ scientific libraries.
  • Knowledge of quaternion and rotation mathematics and coordinate-frame transformations.
  • Experience with CMake and unit testing using GoogleTest or a similar framework.
  • Proficiency in Python for tooling, scripting, and testing.
  • Knowledge of Kalman and Bayesian filtering theory.
  • Background in attitude and rigid-body dynamics.
  • Knowledge of astrodynamics and orbital mechanics fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with the Two-Line Element format.
Responsibilities
  • Write high-performance C++ code for adaptive-step numerical integration of physical systems with multiple perturbation and force models.
  • Implement quaternion-based rotational dynamics and coordinate-frame transformations while ensuring zero memory leaks when integrating third-party C/C++ scientific libraries.
  • Design cache-friendly memory structures and multithreaded execution models that avoid race conditions and false sharing across compute cores.
  • Evaluate and implement intra-job CPU parallelism strategies, including serial, shared-memory such as OpenMP, and message-passing such as MPI, according to workload scale.
  • Implement Kalman-filter-based state estimation that fuses multiple sensor measurements through prediction, innovation, Jacobian assembly, and correction.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with OpenMP and MPI/OpenMPI.
  • Experience with Valgrind, AddressSanitizer, and profilers such as perf or VTune.
  • Experience with C++ continuous-integration pipelines and cross-platform builds.

About the company

Astrome Technologies specializes in wireless telecom solutions to ease network congestion and improve 5G backhaul for network operators. Its flagship product, GigaMesh, delivers up to 80 Gbps per cell tower and enables rapid SDN deployment without fiber infrastructure. The system uses remotely reconfigurable software-defined capacity, electronically steered links for quick alignment, and fine pencil beams with encryption options for secure, reliable connections. Compared with competitors, Astrome delivers much higher per-tower capacity, avoids expensive fiber by using wireless links, and reduces operational costs through remote, software-driven reconfiguration and faster deployment. The company's goal is to help telecom operators expand network capacity and reach—especially in urban and rural areas—by providing scalable, high-capacity, cost-effective wireless backhaul solutions that alleviate congestion.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Astrome raised $10 million in January 2025 from Appollo Fund and IAN Group.
  • Astrome's 2026 website says GigaMesh achieved ruggedized status and a clean room finished.
  • Bengaluru press coverage in September 2026 shows expanding military and satellite ambitions.

What critics are saying

  • Astrome still depends on a small product set, leaving revenue concentrated in GigaMesh.
  • IN-SPACe grants pay against milestones, so delayed satellite-bus execution strains 2026 cash flow.
  • A failed satcom pivot leaves Astrome trapped in slow telecom procurement by 2027.

What makes Astrome Technologies unique

  • GigaMesh combines E-band backhaul, phased arrays, and software steering for fiberless 5G links.
  • IN-SPACe selected Astrome in February 2026 for an indigenous small-satellite bus.
  • Indian Army procurement and iDEX work validate defense-grade communications beyond telecom.
