About the job
- A two-year college or technical school diploma in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
- A Mutual Funds License is required.
- Complete the internal Tru Cooperative certification program specific to this role within the required timeframe.
- Have two years of experience in a Member Advisor role or equivalent.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify member needs and recommend products and services.
- Work independently and solve problems using common sense and sound judgment.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize workload.
- Be proficient in computer software, including Microsoft Office and banking software programs.
- Understand risk and risk ownership and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Build relationships with current and potential members, identify their life-stage needs, provide financial advice, or refer them to an appropriate advisor.
- Process complex member transactions, including personal loans, retail mortgages, RRSP loans, investment products typically under $100,000 in investible assets, personal or business accounts, debit and credit cards, lines of credit and overdraft protection, and related insurance products.
- Support annual branch goals and objectives by promoting products and services, participating in branch campaigns, and seeking cross-selling and referral opportunities; achieve annual sales and referral targets.
- Perform administrative duties, which may include estate administration, completing loan applications, conducting credit investigations, and following up with members by phone.
- Prioritize and manage schedules using the Day in the Life as a guideline to meet goals and provide a consistent member experience.
- In pilot locations, build and maintain a strong community presence and relationships when applicable.
- PFP is an asset.
