Requirements
  • A minimum bachelor's degree in a scientific field is required.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and 2–4 years of experience in analytical testing is required.
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices is required.
  • Knowledge of USP, ICH, and FDA requirements is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform assigned sampling and physical and chemical tests and assays on raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, in-process, finished, and stability products using wet chemistry, physical, and instrumental techniques, including HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, IR, a particle size analyzer, a Karl Fischer autotitrator, and bulk density methods, according to USP, in-house, or other compendial monographs.
  • Plan and maintain adequate inventory of test reagents and solutions, and ensure supplies are ordered as needed.
  • Plan and execute testing independently to meet established timelines, and perform complicated testing with supervisory direction.
  • Record data and results according to documentation procedures, clearly document work, and perform tests accurately.
  • Prepare and/or review test procedures, SOPs, and protocols as assigned.
  • Perform maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment with supervisory direction or training.
  • Perform troubleshooting and investigations under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Comply with applicable regulatory and in-house requirements, including safety, housekeeping, laboratory chemical waste, cGMP, cGLP, and documentation requirements.
  • Review analytical documents as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree with chemistry as one of the subjects is preferred.
  • Experience in generic pharmaceutical industries is preferred.
