Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Motor Grader Operator in highway, roads, and residential development projects.
  • Proficiency in motor grader operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with grading techniques, subgrade shaping, and fine grading for horizontal surfaces.
  • Experience with automatic grade control systems.
  • Ability to make decisions based on verifiable standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with supervisors, crew members, and the project manager.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; a commercial driver's license is a plus.
  • Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and work in a variety of positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds and operate heavy equipment safely.
  • Ability to walk frequently on uneven surfaces in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work overtime hours and flexible schedules as needed to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Operate motor grader equipment to grade and shape subgrades, shoulders, slopes, and base course materials to fine-grade specifications.
  • Perform pre-start checks and routine equipment maintenance, including lubrication, tire pressure checks, and engine gauge monitoring; keep equipment clean and well-maintained.
  • Operate equipment to mix materials, scrape, level dirt, shape subgrades, and dress shoulders and slopes.
  • Use automatic grade control systems and manual grading techniques to achieve precise grade specifications and ensure quality of work.
  • Maintain consistent production levels, schedule work tasks, and ensure timelines and quantity requirements are met.
  • Monitor and ensure work is completed according to project specifications and quality standards; address issues or rework requirements.
  • Enforce on-site safety procedures and ensure the crew adheres to safety standards and company guidelines.
  • Identify and resolve issues arising during project execution.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor based on project needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to operate other construction-related heavy equipment, such as excavators, skid steers, bulldozers, backhoes, front-end loaders, and articulating haul trucks.
  • Commercial driver's license.
