About the job
- A Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Audiology or an equivalent qualification approved by the Health and Care Professions Council.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council or the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists as an Audiologist, or progress toward registration.
- Clinical experience in audiological assessment, hearing-aid fitting, and hearing rehabilitation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with patients of all ages.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Competence with audiological software, equipment, and digital hearing-aid systems.
- Conduct a full range of audiological assessments, including pure-tone audiometry, tympanometry, speech testing, acoustic reflexes, and otoacoustic emissions.
- Perform hearing-aid evaluations and fittings based on audiological profiles and patient needs.
- Assist with balance and vestibular testing when appropriately trained.
- Recommend, fit, and adjust hearing aids or assistive listening devices using real-ear measurements and patient feedback.
- Provide counselling and education to patients and families on hearing loss, device usage, communication strategies, and ongoing hearing management.
- Monitor patient progress and carry out follow-ups, reprogramming, and repairs of hearing devices as required.
- Experience in a specialist area such as paediatrics, tinnitus management, or vestibular diagnostics.
- NHS or private-sector experience in a busy audiology or ear, nose and throat service.
- Experience working with electronic patient record systems and audiology reporting software.
- Evidence of audit, research, or involvement in service-improvement projects.
- Membership of the British Academy of Audiology, British Society of Audiology, or another relevant professional body.

PureHealth has announced the expansion of its platform into laboratory operations across the UK, through its Circle Health Group subsidiary, with new integrated diagnostics capabilities strengthening the group's services across a network of more than 50 hospitals. Circle Health Group will assume selected UK laboratory operations from Unilabs Limited, including two dedicated hub laboratories in Euston and Cavendish Square, London, supported by a network of fully licensed laboratories across the UK. Together, the laboratories provide pathology, histopathology, blood sciences, microbiology, and specialist diagnostic services, serving an established base of more than 90 external healthcare clients. The expansion will utilise the expertise of PureLab, part of PureHealth and the UAE's largest laboratory operator, which manages a network of more than 150 laboratories across the country and processes over 25 million tests annually. PureLab is supported by advanced automation, AI-enabled diagnostics, and internationally accredited laboratory operations, providing proven clinical, operational, and technological expertise to PureHealth platforms. Iran, meanwhile, accused the US of striking a wedding party and warned that Washington would face a new strategy in the conflict. Despite the escalation, Brent crude eased to $94.36 a barrel in early trading from $95.40 at Wednesday's London close, although prices remain elevated amid continued disruption around the Strait of Hormuz. Wall Street provided a more positive lead overnight. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.6% on Wednesday, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite both closed 0.5% higher. Asian markets were mixed on Thursday, with Japan's Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng both down 0.4%, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.4%. The Shanghai Composite was little changed. The Hampshire Clinic in Basingstoke will launch the new outpatient paediatric services from Monday, July 6, offering private GP and specialist care in gastroenterology, colorectal, orthopaedics and urology. The Hampshire Clinic (Image: The Hampshire Clinic) Heather Dob, executive director of The Hampshire Clinic, said: "Many private hospitals are exclusively adult focused, so by launching a dedicated paediatric service Basingstoke Gazette has a unique opportunity to widen its patient demographic and enhance the support Basingstoke Gazette provide to its local community. "We hope to provide patients and their families with access to same day appointments in a comfortable setting." Paediatric consultants have joined the hospital to support the expanded services. While the initial focus will be on outpatient care, the hospital aims to introduce inpatient and surgical services by early 2027. The private GP services will offer appointments most days of the week and include a rapid response team. Patients can access services through private medical insurance or self-funding. With demand for NHS paediatric services continuing to grow the senior management team at The Hampshire Clinic believe the launch of a dedicated children and young people's service at the hospital will provide additional support locally.
