About the Job

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of industry experience after a Master's or PhD in a commercial, non-research environment.
  • Deep expertise in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and multiphase modelling.
  • High proficiency in at least one of Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or Fluent.
  • Ability to set up CFD simulations independently, interpret complex results, and make decisions using sound engineering judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and customers to understand and define engineering challenges.
  • Build complex multiphysics models, including geometry cleanup, meshing, simulation, post-processing, and integration of experimental data for model validation.
  • Build parametric CAD models coupled with simulation pipeline automation to run design optimization and design of experiments studies.
  • Partner with customers to solve complex engineering challenges using CAE and AI solutions; present results, recommend next steps, and balance accuracy with efficiency under tight deadlines.
  • Generate high-quality simulation datasets for training machine learning and deep learning models, using data-sampling techniques to capture the design space efficiently, reduce computational cost, and improve model accuracy.
  • Use the Flux cloud platform and on-premises high-performance computing resources to accelerate high-fidelity modelling and improve performance.
  • Improve engineering best practices and adapt CFD model setups and outputs to support development of deep learning surrogates.
  • Lead projects and mentor junior colleagues.
  • Travel globally, including North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania, up to 2–3 weeks per quarter to work on-site with customers.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with parametric CAD modelling using NX or CATIA.
  • Coding experience in Python or Java, or the ability to quickly learn programming languages.
