Ghostbusters ii-inspired terror tub returns as a bigger, slimier collectible. Just mere hours after its previous update surrounding The Real Ghostbusters Kenner Classics Ecto-Glow Ecto-1, Ghostbusters News has got the news many Ghostbusters fans have been waiting for, as Hasbro has begun processing orders for the long-awaited Plasma Series Proton Pack (1984) replica. Following last month's "preparing to ship" emails sent to collectors, fans have now started seeing charges appear for their Proton Pack pre-orders, meaning shipment notifications are likely right around the corner. First announced during Ghostbusters Day 2025, the updated Proton Pack marked the return of Hasbro's full-scale Plasma Series replica line, this time pulling directly from the original 1984 film. Priced at $299.99 at launch, the collectible features several notable upgrades over its Afterlife-inspired predecessor, including USB-C power support for continuous playback, improved interaction with the Neutrona Wand (sold separately), and premium detailing developed with access to the original hero prop. Of course, this latest development follows news of The Real Ghostbusters Kenner Classics Ecto-Glow Ecto-1, which has already begun arriving in the hands of some lucky fans. If you missed that report, you can find full details here. And naturally, once the Proton Pack arrives here at Ghostbusters News HQ, expect a full unboxing, hands-on impressions, and review. Previously on Ghostbusters News, Ghostbusters News featured a fan-made Ghostbusters game for the Commodore 64 that tasked players with tracking down and trapping Slimer while keeping their health topped up by eating strategically placed Twinkies. Created by David Izon, the project originally surfaced as a work in progress in 2021 before receiving a downloadable demo a few years back. Izon was upfront about its unfinished state, but now he's returned to the project, with the game undergoing a pretty substantial overhaul. Now titled Ghostbusters Revisited, the updated project greatly expands on that early demo, with newly released gameplay footage showcasing several additions that push what was already an ambitious Commodore 64 fan game even further. Among the biggest surprises are side-scrolling Ecto-1 driving sequences, putting players behind the wheel of the Ghostbusters' Cadillac as they make their way through New York City. Ghostbusters News also get a much better look at first-person ghostbusting, with players zappin' and trappin' Slimer and the Library Ghost before doing battle with Gozer the Gozerian, all somehow on the C64. The familiar gameplay loop of rummaging through rooms also remains part of the experience, with encounters featuring both Zuul and Vinz Clortho. Izon stresses, however, that Ghostbusters Revisited is still very much a work in progress, with additional ghosts, room designs, polish, and further development still planned. Reflecting on the project's return, Izon explained that after leaving the original demo sitting unfinished for several years, he decided to revisit it in 2026 and see just how far the concept could be pushed. "The game has come a long way since that original demo, with various areas improved and the project moved on considerably," Izon said, while adding that there is still plenty left to do. For those hoping to get their hands on it, a download of Ghostbusters Revisited is reportedly coming soon. Ghostbusters News'll be keeping an eye on the project and will report back once the latest build becomes available. It's also worth clearing up one potentially confusing detail. Ghostbusters Revisited is not the same project as Ghostbusters Remastered, another Commodore 64 fan game currently in development by SingleCopy. While Izon's game expands upon his own unique concept, Ghostbusters Remastered is a separate reimagining of David Crane's original 1984 Ghostbusters game, with further details on that project available here. With San Diego Comic-Con just kicking off, Hasbro has officially revealed the first additions to its The Real Ghostbusters anniversary lineup, announcing both the Kenner Classics Janine Melnitz & Louis Tully 40th Anniversary Set and Ecto-Plazms minifigures, with pre-orders now open. The Kenner Classics Janine Melnitz & Louis Tully 40th Anniversary Set brings two of the animated series' most recognizable supporting characters into Hasbro's retro-inspired Kenner Classics collection. Standing 5 inches tall, both figures feature articulation and styling faithful to the original Kenner line, complete with character-specific Proton Packs, Neutrona Wands with stream effects, and two ghost companions to round out the set. The set is priced at $46.99 USD and is scheduled to ship on November 1. [PRE-ORDER NOW] Alongside the figures, Hasbro also unveiled The Real Ghostbusters Ecto-Plazms, a new line inspired by the 1986 animated series. The release includes 72 minifigures featuring 12 different characters, made up of five Ghostbusters and seven iconic ghosts. Each character is available in one of six possible color variations, including glow-in-the-dark editions. Packed inside containers reminiscent of Kenner's original Ecto-Plazm canisters, the Pulse-exclusive minifigure collection is priced at $89.99 USD and is expected to ship on October 1. Hasbro's Ultimate Grogu makes its San Diego Comic-Con debut, plus new 'Doomsday,' LEGO-themed fun. From "Avengers: Doomsday" to "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu" and more, see all of the fandom fun on the SDCC show floor. By Amy Becker Tuesday, July 28, 2026 1:43PM SAN DIEGO - For collectors and fans alike, San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is the mecca for all things fandom. After four days immersed in the con, On The Red Carpet is rounding up some of the latest Disney products to hit the show floor. Kicking off with Hasbro's Ultimate Grogu, the $599.99 animatronic is programmed with over 250 expressive animations, powered by four motors and 14 sensors. In its 1:1 scale, Grogu reacts to multiple touch points along his hands, cheeks, head and back, resulting in animations like Force arm movement, blinking eyes, moving ears and more. "Grogu has stolen so many hearts, and the reactions that we've gotten here have just been absolutely incredible," Claire Goolsby, an electrical engineer at Hasbro tells ABC30. Hasbro is also "bringing a lot of 'Doomsday' action" to fans, says Dwight Stall, a principal designer at the company. Showcased at the con, their 6" Marvel Legends line include characters from the upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday," as well as kid role-play items and bigger action figures. "We love making toys for everybody, every child of all ages, whether you're old people like me, or young people like Dan here, you know? That's the best thing about Hasbro. We get to bring it all for you, year-in and year-out." The fun doesn't stop there. On the show floor, the LEGO booth drew a big crowd, where they invited guests to experience LEGO SMART Play on a bigger scale, by sizing up their "Star Wars"-inspired Mos Eisley Cantina set. "The heart of the SMART play platform is the SMART brick," explains LEGO PR and events manager Ethan Schroeder. "Basically, the SMART brick, within it has 20+ patented technologies, allowing it to sense motion, basically recode from what we call SMART tags and SMART minifigures in the set. So it basically adds a nice level of responsive play to the sets that fans already know and love." At the Displate booth, which features an assortment of metal posters, general manager Justin Vincent showed off their "new, smaller collectible format that we're calling Displate Shards." The Shards are about the size of a playing card, 3-D printed in full color. 16 "Star Wars"-themed Shards debuted at the con. "People put in on their walls, in their homes, but this small format lets them do that in so many other ways, if it's at work, on your desk, on your fridge, whatever you're gonna do, and you can do so many cool things to show off your fandom for 'Star Wars' content." If you're looking for ways to wear your fandom merchandise, Ray-Ban has a new collection out, inspired by "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu." This year marked "the first ever iteration of Ray-Ban at Comic-Con," explained senior brand manager Boyd Wilson, but "the license with Disney overall, we have some really exciting projects that are coming down the line." The line features two adult styles, one inspired by the Mandalorian and one inspired by Grogu, as well as two child-sized frames. At the Topps booth, fans were treated to two free spins per day on the "Star Wars" Card Trader digital collectibles app for a chance at digital and physical prizes. Gino Ferrazzano, a marketing manager at Topps digital, describes the app as "essentially a virtual hobby shop in the palm of your hand." "Beyond a digital pack or digital currency, you can also win a breaker mat, which features our card art, or even a hobby box, so there's no easier way to win a hobby box than in our booth," Ferrazzano said. Topps and Lucasfilm have been partnered since 1977. The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Disney Consumer Products and this ABC station.
Hasbro Doomsday action figures break from tradition and will actually be out in time for the movie. Published 2 hours ago Going up for pre-order today Hasbro Pulse has shown off its Doomsday action figure range, and it provides a novel change for the company - these toys look as though they're actually going to be released in time for the movie. Revealed at SDCC 2026 this weekend, the imprint showed off 12 new Doomsday action figures - many of which are up for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse today from 1pm ET. These are all part of the Hasbro Pulse Marvel Legends line and feature everyone from Cyclops to Doctor Doom himself with high-detail sculpts and numerous accessories for more dramatic posing. A release date hasn't been announced yet, but in People's exclusive reveal, a December launch has been suggested... e.g. around the same time as Doomsday itself, which hits theaters on December 18. This is significant because Hasbro Pulse products typically launch after the fact. Although there are a couple of exceptions (like Fantastic Four: First Steps), previous lines tended to hit shelves long after the movie in question was released. That makes these figures being shown off well before Doomsday and hitting shelves at the same time quite the break from tradition. Honestly, I'm not sorry to hear it; the hype for Avengers: Doomsday is palpable right now, so being able to snap up action figures based on it is better than having to wait until a year after launch. Especially because these toys spoil the surprising hero "powerful enough" to stop Doctor Doom. Latest Videos FromGamesRadar+ Little Nightmares III: The Backstage Reveal Trailer - Future Games Show Summer Showcase 2026 The Backstage is a brand new DLC for Little Nightmares III which takes players to the underbelly of The Carnevale. Bandai Namco provided a shudder-worthy first look at the expansion during this year's Summer Showcase, rounding off with the news that The Backstage is coming to PC and consoles on June 12, 2026. 0 seconds of 1 minute, 39 seconds Volume 0% You can see the full lineup so far (because c'mon, there's no way GamesRadar is not getting more down the road) via Hasbro Pulse senior design director Steve Evans' Instagram post below, or via Hasbro Pulse's full reveal video. The downside of going so early? There are some discrepancies. While most of the Hasbro Pulse Doomsday action figures match their on-screen counterparts 1:1, Doom himself is a little different because his on-screen costume has changed ever so slightly since it was first revealed. To be precise, the belt on this toy is the old design that GamesRadar saw in promo material early this/last year that has since changed (figures like this tend to be based on early promo material or concept art). It's not a problem, of course, but it's a fun quirk of production of the best toys. Just a fun conversation starter for you. Anyway, most of these Doomsday action figures should be up for pre-order now, with the others to follow in the next few months. For more collectibles, don't miss its guide to the best Lego sets. "The 4K restoration brings out details that were never visible on VHS or DVD." - The Movie Blog, July 2026 What is the new My Little Pony: Forever Friendship Series? My Little Pony: Forever Friendship is a new animated series that continues the "Friendship is Magic" era with a new generation of ponies. The series follows a group of young ponies who discover an ancient artifact that threatens to separate Equestria into isolated realms. It is produced by Hasbro's in-house animation studio and features a mix of 2D and CGI animation. The series is designed to appeal to both preschool viewers and older fans of the franchise. The first season consists of 26 episodes, each 22 minutes long. Hasbro confirmed that the show will address themes of cooperation and empathy, consistent with the brand's core values. The series has already been renewed for a second season before its premiere, based on strong pre-order toy sales and streaming platform commitments. How does this announcement fit Hasbro's strategy? Hasbro's dual announcement leverages nostalgia for the Transformers brand while expanding the My Little Pony universe to capture younger audiences. The company reported a 12% increase in collector-toy revenue in 2025, driven by re-releases of classic action figures. The Transformers re-release targets the same demographic, while the new MLP series aims to build a long-term content pipeline for streaming platforms. Blogging Resources & Services According to the article, Hasbro's CEO stated that the company is "doubling down on its most beloved IPs" to compete with other media conglomerates. The Transformers re-release is expected to generate $15 million in direct sales, while the MLP series is projected to drive a 20% increase in toy sales for the brand in 2027. Hasbro's stock rose 3.2% on the day of the announcement, reflecting investor confidence in the strategy. Who is this for? The Transformers 40th-anniversary re-release is primarily for adult collectors and fans aged 30-50 who grew up with the original film. The new My Little Pony series targets children aged 4-12 and their parents, as well as the "brony" adult fan community. Both products are also intended for retailers and streaming platforms seeking exclusive content. Hasbro's market research indicates that 68% of Transformers collectors are male, aged 35-54, with a median annual household income of $85,000. For My Little Pony, the core audience is female children aged 4-9, but the brand has a significant adult fan base that accounts for 22% of total merchandise sales. The dual release allows Hasbro to address two distinct demographics with a single marketing campaign. Common questions. Will the Transformers re-release include the original theatrical audio? Yes. The 4K restoration includes the original 1986 theatrical stereo mix, as well as a new 5.1 surround sound remix. Both audio options are available on the Blu-ray and digital releases. Is the new My Little Pony series a reboot or a continuation? It is a continuation set after the events of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The series introduces new characters while featuring cameo appearances from older ponies, such as Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. Where can I pre-order the Transformers 40th-anniversary edition? Pre-orders are available directly from Hasbro Pulse, Amazon, and major retailers like Walmart and Target. The digital version can be pre-ordered on iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play.
