Tenstreet, a driver lifecycle management platform for the trucking industry, has released analysis showing drivers are staying in current roles longer whilst evaluating market uncertainty, though "pent-up" turnover could emerge if freight conditions improve. Based on anonymized data from approximately 5,000 carriers, the analysis found average driver tenure has increased since late 2023. However, drivers continue re-entering the market after an average of 3.8 months in current roles, with full application volume in April 2026 just 5% lower than the previous year. The analysis revealed referred drivers are 12 times more likely to be hired than average, highlighting the importance of human connection despite AI adoption in recruiting. At its UConnect26 conference, Tenstreet unveiled Tenstreet Assistant, an AI-powered tool that automates routine tasks whilst maintaining personalized engagement.
